What a turnout tonight for Morgan White’s welcome reception as our new Tourism and Main Street Director. Business owners, elected officials, and community leaders all came together to celebrate this appointment and show their commitment to tourism and downtown revitalization.
Tourism generated $8.3 million in visitor spending for Overton County in 2024, and with dedicated leadership and strategic investment, that number is only going to grow.
Morgan is stepping into this role with tremendous momentum. The Tourism Development Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber, Main Street Livingston, the City, and County creates a unified vision and consolidates our resources. Combined with the recent extension of the Courthouse Square Revitalization Act funding through 2038, we have the strategic framework and sustainable resources needed to invest meaningfully in downtown improvements and tourism growth for years to come.
Tourism and Main Street revitalization aren’t separate from economic development, they’re foundational to it. This is how we attract visitors, grow our tax base, create jobs, and build a community people want to live in.
Thank you to everyone who showed up tonight. This kind of community support is exactly what makes meaningful progress possible.
