We sadly report the passing of Joseph (Joe) Benich, founder of Nomads Travel Club.

Joe was 91 years old at the time of his passing on Wednesday September 8, 2021. In 1965 he left his secure employment with General Motors Corporation to start and build Nomads Travel Club. 30 years later, in 1995, he retired from Nomads and, with his wife Ami (former Chief Flight Attendant for Nomads), moved to the Phoenix area to enjoy an additional 26 years of retirement. Joe's able operational and financial guidance of Nomads through the years resulted in Nomads being the last remaining air travel club in the United States to own and operate its own aircraft, fondly known as the "Flying Clubhouse". NexTour is a successor club formed and run by former Nomads employees. Both former Nomads and NexTour members owe Joe a great debt of gratitude for enabling us to continue our worldwide travels in the comfort of a private aircraft (for many years) and with great friends we have made while on those trips.
