✨ Meet Your Hosts: Aaron & Patty ✨

Hey there! We’re Aaron and Patty, the husband-and-wife team behind the operations of Slate + Stone Curated Retreats. As locals who love the outdoors, we couldn’t be more excited to share our favorite slice of the Hocking Hills with you!

🌲 Aaron is a Cleveland Browns fanatic (always next year, right?), a rock-and-roll drummer for over 30 years, and a former food truck owner turned corporate marketing pro. His signature Korean Beef Tacos are legendary! When he’s not cooking up something delicious or jamming out, you can find him hiking with our dog Ranger, mushroom hunting, or enjoying a juicy IPA.

🌿 Patty’s love for travel comes from her childhood as an Army kid, and exploring new places is still a big part of her life. She’s a hairstylist with a passion for creativity, nature, and good books. Patty is also deeply passionate about business and personal growth—always seeking new ways to learn, connect, and build something meaningful. Whether we’re hiking our private trails, discovering new breweries, or cooking a cozy meal, we’re always looking for our next adventure.

We put our heart and soul into making Slate & Stone a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable getaway. Whether you’re here for the trails, the views, or just a little peace and quiet, we can’t wait to host you!

Explore 120 Acres on Our Hiking Trails

Our private trails are bursting with new life and natural beauty this time of year. Here’s what you might find as you explore:

🌳 Birch Groves & Ferns: Wander through groves of birch trees surrounded by lush ferns and winding streams.

🪨 Rock Formations: Spot rugged sandstone tucked among the trees, slate-bottom creeks, and remnants of abandoned strip mines.

🦉 Wildlife & Birds: Keep your eyes and ears open for our buddy Ozzie the owl, deer, and other wildlife as you hike.

🌷 Springtime Surprises: Spring brings new life, from the amazingly camouflaged Ruffed Grouse eggs pictured above to blooming wildflowers and rippling creeks and waterfalls.

In every corner of our cabins, there’s a story to tell—and our kitchens are no exception. ✨

When designing these spaces, we wanted them to feel more than just functional—we wanted them to feel like home. That’s why we chose this beautiful tile backsplash. The pattern reminded us of the vintage well-loved quilts you may remember from childhood that kept us warm on chilly Appalachian nights. 🌙💛

It’s these little nods to the history and beauty of our area that make our cabins unique. From the vintage quilt pattern inspired tiles to the Slate (& Stone) 😉 finishes throughout , every detail is carefully selected to honor this place we’re lucky to call home.

Here, you’ll find more than a place to cook; you’ll find a nostalgic connection to the past and a reminder that the little things truly make a house a home. 🏡🌲
