After last night’s rain, the river is running a bit high today, so we do have a few safety restrictions in place:
Canoes – Allowed for experienced paddlers only, with no more than 2 people per canoe
Kayaks – Available for guests 16 and older
Rafts – The best option for families and newer paddlers
Tubes – Running today for guests 12 and up
Trip B – Kayaks only, for experienced paddlers 16 and older

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the awesome crew who joined us for our river clean-up!
Most of those who came to help were from out of town, which makes it even more special that they took the time during their visit to give back. We had a great afternoon on the water, shared a lot of laughs, and most importantly—left the river a little cleaner than we found it.

Join Us for a River Clean-Up Paddle & Cookout!

We’re heading out on Thursday, June 26 for a special trip to help keep the Hocking River beautiful—and we’d love for you to join us!

Our staff will be paddling from the 7-mile to the 5-mile point, picking up trash and tidying up the riverbanks along the way. If you’re up for paddling with a purpose, meet us at the livery at 3:00 PM.

We’ll provide the boats, gear, and trash bags—you just bring your helping hands and good vibes. And when we get back? We’ll fire up the grill for a good old-fashioned cookout to say thank you!

It's looking like we are finally going to get some perfect river trip temperatures! We open at 9:30am and will be running shuttles up until 4:00pm, sending out canoes, kayaks and tubes. (Tubes only run until noon) We take reservations and walk-ins everyday.

The sun is shining, and the river is calling! We’re open and ready for adventure. We’re keeping a close eye on river levels after the rain, so there may be a few restrictions in place to ensure everyone has a safe and fun outing.
Stop by, soak up the sunshine, and enjoy the beauty of the Hocking River!

Our Story

Aaron Fox opened Hocking Hills Canoe Livery in May of 1996 born on the need for a quality outfitter on the Hocking River. We began with 35 boats (about 30 too many for the first year) and lots of good energy. Now in 2019 we have grown to over 300 various watercraft. We have not pushed our growth but feel that our customers demanded it with the need for great customer service. We love what we do and hope that we can share our passions with you and your family.
