Oh, the memories! El Sol was THE Mexican restaurant in town (unless you count Taco Time 😂) back in the day. And El Sol was a little fancier because you actually had a waitress!

I grew up on their chips and salsa. Was it hot? Nope. 🌶️ But this very white girl loved it just the same!

My go-to order was always the #7 — chile verde and a beans burrito. I can still picture all those ceramic suns decorating the walls. ☀️

One of my favorite memories was going to El Sol at the end of the term in Spanish class at Logan Junior High. It was a little celebration, and somehow the food tasted even better when you were there with your classmates.

51 years of meals, celebrations, family dinners, and memories. It’s amazing how a restaurant can become part of your own story and the story of an entire town.

Thanks for the chips, salsa, and memories, El Sol. You’ll be missed! ❤️

Tour along the sidewalks past some of the historic homes on 100 north and center street in Logan. Tours are a miles in length and takes 75-90 minutes. Fee is $10/person.

If the weather is nice I’ll keep doing tours, but we never know about the weather in Cache Valley! This has been a fun tour and people have been amazed to learn more about the homes and people that settled Logan early on. I’d love to have you join us!
