1. Boston

Go in July for: FIFA World Cup, Sail Boston, and America’s big birthday

Boston already wears its history proudly, but America’s 250th anniversary will shine a brighter spotlight on the historic capital. The city is experiencing a turning point, and the world is starting to see the version of Boston that its residents have always known: not a college town or a business-first destination but a vibrant and dynamic metropolis where past and future coexist. And 2026 is going to be a banner year for goings-on. There’s something old: the return of Sail Boston in July, an event held roughly every eight years when Boston Harbor gets packed with floods with historic tall ships from around the world, many of which guests can board and explore for free. There’s something new too: Boston is one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which organizers are already calling the single largest sporting event ever.

2. New York City
New York City is hosting a massive, historic celebration for America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, centered on the Sail4th 250 maritime event. This includes an international parade of over 46 tall ships in New York Harbor, a US Navy fleet review, Blue Angels flyovers, and a special Times Square ball drop.
Key details of the 250th-anniversary celebration:

Among the most anticipated moments:

July 1–3: Jefferson’s handwritten Declaration of Independence will be on public view at the New York Public Library for a limited time—offering a rare glimpse at the original, edited text that shaped the birth of a nation.

July 3–8: Sail4th 250 will fill New York Harbor with more than 70 tall ships and naval vessels from around the world, in a sweeping maritime procession that circles the Statue of Liberty and docks along the city’s waterfront.

July 3: For the first time in history, the iconic Times Square Ball will drop outside of New Year’s Eve. A midnight countdown to July 4 will light up the square with fireworks, confetti, and music in a global moment marking the start of America’s 250th birthday.

July 4: Macy’s Fireworks Spectacular returns to the East River, accompanied by an air show and set against the backdrop of anchored ships and illuminated bridges.

July 6: The Homecoming of Heroes Parade will honor veterans and first responders as it winds through Midtown in one of the week’s most moving civic moments.

1. Jumby Bay Island- Antigua
This 300-acre private island off the North coast of Antigua delivers a level of comfort possible only in the Caribbean. The terrain is rugged and wild, populated with darting lizards and free from any traffic that isn’t embarked on foot—it’s a “no cars, no keys” policy here. Come and go as you please from your suite or villa to any of the three restaurants, spa, several beaches, and all around the island. Whether you go for the suite or the villa, there’s plenty of room to play house: each suite has a bright entry courtyard of its own outfitted with wicker chair swings and a terrace overlooking the beach.

2.Hermitage Bay- Antigua
A true slice of peaceful paradise, Antigua's Hermitage Bay is designed for romance. There are 30 airy, contemporary cottages that feature private plunge pools, expansive decks, and unobstructed ocean views (a special few even open up right onto the sand). As an all-inclusive retreat, you two can indulge in endless gourmet meals, fresh sushi prepared nightly by the ocean, and handcrafted cocktails. Unwind with a couple’s spa treatment in the hillside Garden Spa, sip sunset cocktails on the beach, or snorkel together in crystal-clear waters. For adventure, set sail on a private boat charter or paddleboard in the calm cove.

3. Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel- Anguilla
When it first debuted in 1988, Cap Juluca quickly became a favorite of the jet-set, who were drawn in by the pristine sands of Maundays Bay and the airy, Moroccan-style domed villas that dot them. By the time Belmond acquired the property in 2017, an update was long overdue—and just a week after they closed it, Hurricane Irma rolled through, destroying everything but those sugar-cube villas. It reopened again in late 2018 with five villas, two new restaurants (including a revamped Pimms), and a gleaming spa—Of course, you’ll spend plenty of your time laying out on the beach, but don’t ditch the villas during the daytime altogether—outfitted with four-poster beds, linen curtains that balloon when the door opens, and soft Beni Ourain carpets, they transform a late-afternoon nap into a pleasure without the guilt.
