Had the pleasure of helping these clients on Lopez to reduce the heat and provide privacy. I installed six automated Hunter Douglas Roller Shades with casettes: three in the main living area and three in their bedroom. Installing these shades above the trim allows the view to be unobstructed while the shades are up; they just disappear. Shade sizes averaged 65 inches wide by 125 inches in height.

To address heat reduction concerns, a client in Deer Harbor needed help selecting appropriate blinds. Solar Screen Shades from Hunter Douglas were chosen to maintain her picturesque west-facing water view. These shades provide UV protection, reduce glare, and decrease heat gain during the summer. When not in use, they roll up tightly and blend in with her trim.

Had a wonderful experience assisting this client on Lopez who had a clear vision for her project. The installation of Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades provided the perfect solution, offering daytime and nighttime privacy, along with a sleek modern aesthetic when in the up position, neatly rolled into the headrail. The Literise lift system, featured on most shades within her reach, ensured effortless operation and eliminated the need for cords. To address solar heat gain, UV protection, and glare in this Orcas island home, large manual shades were installed on the west-facing wall of windows. The shades feature a unique fabric with an aluminum backing that reflects sunlight and effectively reduces heat, glare, and UV damage. My client needed a solution for these south facing windows in her guest house. The space is used for entertainment and sleeping so a perfect solution for her was to do room darkening shades for a better nights sleep and to control the glare off the tv for viewing. Hunter Douglas Gen 3 automated solar screens are a great way to reduce solar heat gain, glare, and prevent fading with uv protection. Easy to use with just a touch of a button and with the introduction of embedded lithium ion batteries they only need to be charged about once a year with a daily up and down schedule. With the addition of these solar shades the south facing home is cooler and more livable yet they are still able to enjoy the gorgeous view.
