There is always one whale encounter each season that you think about long after you fly home. This humpback in particular I’ll remember for life. Watching them live, play, sing, breach, and take care of their young is a dream come true for any ocean lover. When other species like these Pygmy killer whales or dolphins show up, it really shows why Polynesia is such a magical place. The marine reserve there gives these intelligent animals full protection while these visit these waters. Can’t wait to see what year five brings come September in the South Pacific 💙

The striped marlin and mahi mahi are voracious predators that make quick work of bait balls!

Meet this extremely curious olive ridley sea turtle. She spent a full 30 minutes checking out our group in the water and playing with the school of fish. It's possible she just washed to look at herself in the reflection of the dome port, but I think she wanted to be friends. Out of all my sea turtle encounters, I think this one with is at the top! Do you like turtles?
