One of the many tragedies of COVID is the potential loss of arts and culture, specifically, the small clubs where we music fans and bands alike have experienced a lot of firsts, the treasured places where musicians launch their creative journeys, the spaces where loving memories of "I saw them when" are created and forever etched in our minds and hearts.
In this video, Slash shares his life-long relationship attending, playing, and returning to The Troubadour for a Guns N โRoses reunion tour. We can all relate, maybe not as Slash himself (he's a one-in-a-million kid) but definitely connect to the joy of being in the crowd experiencing magic before our eyes and ears.
We can't lose this critical limb of our culture.
TODAY, October 16 kicks off a 3-day fest by NIVA - National Independent Venue Association who has partnered with YouTube Music. This virtual music festival will feature original performances from iconic indie stages around the US, including The Roots at the Apollo Theater, Foo Fighters from the Troubadour, Miley Cyrus at the Whisky A Go-Go, Dizzy Fae at First Avenue & 7th St Entry, and Nathaniel Rateliff at Boulder Theater, and more.
