This week, officials voted to close the Philadelphia cruise ship terminal. The number of ships departing from Philadelphia's Navy Yard terminal has declined from a high of 36 in 2006 to only two calls scheduled for 2011. The move will save $18 million in future renovation costs and eliminate $627,000 in current operating expenses. Do you think this cruise homeport will be missed?

Norwegian Epic made her U.S. debut today and is now off on a series of inaugural events. I'm boarding the ship next Thursday in Miami for my own two-night preview cruise. Today's port was Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia and the largest city in Canada's Atlantic Provinces.
