A fun Sunday afternoon with my friend, Hannah. Started at Repeal with brunch and made our way to Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts to watch The Outsiders. Wonderful food and even better performance. Get out and do fun things. Every day is a blessing. Let me help you make plans in Louisville.

I always try to make my sons birthday special for him and this year was no different. We drove two hours north to visit the great Wolf Lodge for the first time ever. On the way I found the most amazing toy store in America. King Arthur’s Court is so much more than just a toy store. It’s a playground for kids to explore and live out their fantasies. There’s a secret dungeon where kids can play and explore, a stage to perform and popcorn to be had. It’s especially wonderful if you are celebrating your birthday. They will give you a key to the castle where you will discover surprises at the top. I was so impressed with their whole inventory.
Our next stop was for dinner at Kawa. It is a revolving sushi restaurant which we do not have here in Louisville and my son is obsessed. We came across it on our last visit to Cincinnati. Once our bellies were full, we made it to our destination just in time to enjoy the water park for an hour. It’s definitely an impressive operation. So much fun to be had. The room we got was very spacious but I would not say it accommodate our needs as a family of five. Not happy with the cleanliness or loudness of the air conditioner. Let’s just say we’re not making plans to come back anytime soon.
We visited the waterpark again the next morning for a couple of hours before heading back home. On the way, I found a traditional Turkish restaurant. I cannot say enough good things about the ambience, food and service. Do yourself a favor if you are ever in Mason Ohio and pay Istanbul Turkish kitchen a visit. You will not be disappointed.

I visited Maya Bagel Express for the first time this morning but was not impressed. My take-out order for a lox sandwich did not include any of the toppings, which was disappointing. Despite trying to call and report the issue, no one answered. Although the bagel itself was very tasty, the missing ingredients marred my experience. I'm sad their service didn't match their product.

When in California look at taking the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to get you around. Even though we had about a 20-30 minute delay in our trip, it’s well worth the easy expedition. Expert tip: get seats in business class. So comfy and you get awesome snacks.
