So here's a fun post!!... Especially for all of our neighbors and other longtime St. Matthews residents who have probably driven past our home a million times.

The first picture is one of our home during the process of removing the entire attic and roof section, right before the addition of a full second story. We are guessing at dates here, but it looks like it's late '70s or early '80s (edit- I was way off on this one. As it turns out this was done in the early '90s!!). The next photo is of the exterior in the state that we bought the home (removing some of the exterior during the job), and the final photo is post exterior renovation that we did last year.

I cannot tell you how much I agonized over exterior siding colors and finishes, and how to deal with choosing cohesive colors while keeping the original brick AND the spirit of a Craftsman home without painting the brick or straying too far from her original character. 🫠

We've come a long way baby!!

It's so interesting to see the progression of all of these homes in our neighborhood over the years. Owning a 100-year-old home is *not* for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of time, love, and commitment to give these homes the love that they deserve!!

I want to thank the stewards of this home over the years. She's gone through an incredible transformation, and it's been a labor of love, but I know that everyone who owned her before us tried to treat her with the same care. ❤️

Now for something work related... I'm *really* proud of our reviews. They constantly mention the little things, and the big things-- All the effort and care that goes into making amazing and memorable experiences for those who vacation in one of our homes. This post is just for our Nolin Lake home. But there are hundreds of others for the multitude of properties we have had over the years, and I could not be more proud of every last one of them.

I love this business, and it shows.

For some reason I've had a glut of new views on this page in the last day or two. They were probably a little disappointed! I wanted to make this post to say that I don't really post a lot here. Maybe I should, but I'm really busy. 🤷‍♀️

And while I would love to make social media a bigger part of my professional life, I'm often too busy to deal with it!! I'm actually more interested in working than I am promoting it!! 😅
