A HUGE thank you to the amazing volunteers who made this week with Love Hot Air Balloons and our beautiful balloon, Agape, at the Balloon Fiesta so special! From the early mornings to the long days, your hard work, teamwork, and smiles helped make every flight possible.

And a special shoutout to our amazing pilot, John, for keeping everyone safe, confident, full and happy all week long! We are so grateful for your leadership, skill, and love for what you do.

To each and every one of you that came up to say hi, ask for cards, pin trade, or ask questions - YOU made this week one we will never forget!! You welcomed us with open arms to our first ever fiesta, and we are eternally grateful. 😍

❤️ There’s something magical about watching a hot air balloon come to life. From the setup and inflation on the ground to that moment when you lift off and the world below grows quiet… it’s an experience like no other. ❤️

At Love Hot Air Balloons, based in Loveland, Colorado, we believe some of the best adventures happen when you slow down, look around, and let the wind carry you.

Morning magic over the Rio Grande. ✨🎈

Ever wonder why Albuquerque is the absolute perfect place for hot air balloons? It all comes down to a unique meteorological phenomenon called the “Albuquerque Box”.

Because of the unique geography of the Rio Grande Valley and the surrounding Sandia Mountains, the wind actually flows in two opposite directions at different altitudes.

During cool October mornings, dense, chilly air flows south along the valley floor like water. But if a pilot increases their altitude by just a few hundred feet, they catch a warmer, higher layer of air blowing back north.

Because hot air balloons can’t be steered with a steering wheel or engine, pilots rely entirely on the wind. The “Box” allows them to fly south down the river, climb up, catch the upper wind, and loop right back to land exactly where they started.

It’s nature’s perfect racetrack in the sky. 🗺️🌤️
