Partner Spotlight: Holy Trinity Church in St. Andrews

We always receive a warm and generous welcome at “Holy T” in St. Andrews. Rev. Marion tells us the rich history of this church during the Scottish Reformation. We’re always awed when she pulls out their first edition of the King James Bible and invites us to read aloud a few words from Genesis or the Gospel of John. We also love hearing about what the church is up to these days and how they are still proclaiming good news in their neighborhood. Thank you, Rev. Marion and Holy Trinity for welcoming our pilgrims!

From April 7–17, 2027, we’ll travel through Greece following the footsteps of Paul.

We’ll visit Lydia’s baptismal site in Philippi, stand at the Bema where Paul preached in Berea, and reflect on Mars Hill in Athens, where he addressed the Athenians. We’ll also experience the Byzantine monasteries of Meteora, visit a family workshop that has been writing Orthodox icons for three generations, explore ancient Delphi, and walk among the ruins of Corinth.

Along the way, we’ll worship together, share meals, ask meaningful questions, and consider what these ancient stories still have to teach us today.

Visting Greece, the places we read about in Scripture are no longer just names on a page, but alive with geography, archtitecture, and story. In April 2027, we’ll walk through Thessaloniki, Philippi, Berea, Athens, and Corinth encountering the places where Paul preached and some of the earliest Christian communities took root.

Women in Church History: St. Brigid

St. Brigid is one of Ireland’s most beloved saints, remembered for her leadership, hospitality, generosity, and care for those on the margins. Her story is a reminder of the important role women have played in shaping the life of the church, even when their stories have not always been given as much attention. One of the gifts of pilgrimage is getting to encounter these stories in the places where they took root and letting them speak to us in a new way today.

I’m not very well read on the mystics, and I’m eager to learn more. The Mystics Would Like a Word is an easy introduced to some powerful women’s voices. It's a whetting my appetite to go deeper, especially with Julian of Norwich and Marjorie Kempe in preparation for the pilgrimage with Callie Swanlund next spring.

We ask your blessing as we travel today in spirit; guide our minds as we learn of those who came before us, traversing the pilgrim way. Give us a hunger to seek your face in paths through fields, along roads trod by many seeking the blessing of your presence. Nurture our fellowship, and help us to see each other as a brother or sister sharing the journey to your blessed kingdom. Amen.

A few glimpses from Resistance, Reformation, and Justice in Germany with Celtic Cross at Presbyterian College.

This pilgrimage bourght students to places where faith, history, resistance, and justice meet, from Berlin to Wittenberg, understanding Bonhoeffer’s witness against National Socialism as rooted in the legacy of the Reformation.
