Scott Carter with Otto’s Granary was a long time merchant of Holiday Happening. His exquisite candy gift baskets were always the hit of every Holiday Happening Auction that he participated in. Our thoughts are with Scott and the Otto’s Granary family!
The Otto’s Granary family is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Kenneth “Scott” Carter on January 10, 2026. Scott’s lifelong passion for chocolate making began in childhood. His mother, the late Patricia Carter, once remarked, “He never thought he wanted to be anything but a candyman.”
Scott transformed that passion into a fulfilling career, recently celebrating the re-opening of the new Otto’s Granary location. A familiar and welcoming presence in the store, Scott took great joy in sharing his extensive knowledge of chocolate, coffee, and tea with friends, colleagues, and customers alike. While his presence will be deeply missed, Otto’s Granary will continue to operate, offering the many delectable items that our valued customers have come to know and enjoy.
