The afternoon trip had better visibility and we got some good looks at a minke. We've been seeing many species of birds in the bay that used to be found offshore - razorbills, murres, gannets - and on the way in today we saw a Wilson's Storm Petrel!

We took off in thick fog on the morning trip and found whales by shutting down and listening for the blows. We had a finback pass near us and we followed their 'footsteps' on the surface of the water as they swam by. These clear circular patches are formed by the upward motion of their flukes underwater.

We had a great morning trip today! The fog hung back against the islands, and we found a finback who gave a good show to the passengers, some who were on their very first boat ride! We also had good views of eagles and porpoise, and on the way back picked up a minke whale before getting home to Lubec.
Trips leave daily at 10am and 1pm.
