The Harlan County Tourist and Convention Commission is pleased to announce our upcoming project ... The Black Mountain Roadside Overlook. The site is located 2 miles from the top of Black Mountain on KY 160. The site is directly across the mountain terrain from the FAA radar tower and adjacent high point in Kentucky — the location of another project that has been in the works for several years. The overlook will feature three binocular stations in which visitors can view the beautiful vistas. We are so excited to bring this project to life after years of planning that actually goes back to the 90's when locals formed "Hands Across The Mountain" organization to better enhance the beauty of Black Mountain.
