The Buffalo Maritime Center has built a traditional, full-sized replica of the Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief, which originally traversed the Erie Canal upon its opening in 1825.

This fall, the Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief will embark on its Bicentennial Voyage from Buffalo to the New York Harbor, commemorating Governor Dewitt Clinton’s inaugural journey. This voyage offers communities across New York State a chance to explore the past and plan for the future. ⚓

September 30 – Newark at T. Spencer Knight Canal Port
October 1 – Lyons at Lock 27
October 2 – Clyde at Lauraville Landing

Lyons Main Street Program is excited to announce their Live Concert Series! Corey Comer will kick off the series in Southside Canal Park in Lyons starting this Wednesday August 13th at 6pm. Entry is free but be sure to bring your lawn chair, blanket or something comfortable to sit on. 🎶🎵

📍Southside Park is located along the south edge of the Erie Canal behind McDonalds. The park entrance is located along Route 14 north of the Route 31 & Route 14 intersection.

While you're in Palmyra NY for the fair this week be sure to stop by and check out Historic Palmyra, Palmyra, NY for a tour of their 5 museums. Filled with incredible artifacts and rich history, including the largest collection of American hand-woven coverlets and a general store subsequently left untouched since 1940, you never know what you'll find or who you may run into during your visit. 😲
