When we get such glowing reviews it’s so fulfilling for us! We believe we have the best guests in the world and it’s why we strive to provide a unique experience and atmosphere for each of of them. We still plan to expand by adding 2 more cabins and its reviews like these that motivate us to break ground even faster. In the coming years we have a ton of plans for developing our 60 acres to give guests even more bang for their buck! 🦬🐅 Along a quiet stretch of U.S.-2 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, there’s a roadside stop that started with a simple idea: a couple, a piece of land, and the animals they already had as pets.

What began with pygmy goats, potbellied pigs, pheasants, peacocks, and sika deer slowly grew into something much bigger. Today, visitors wandering the cedar-mulched trails might spot grizzly bears, wolves, cougars, African lions, a Siberian tiger, river otters, reindeer, lemurs, yaks, and even alligators — all tucked into a quiet Northwoods setting. 🌲

The park sits on 30 acres at the very top of Lake Michigan, surrounded by thousands of acres of state and federal forest. Many of the animals here were rescued or donated, and the entire place was built largely by hand, blending into the natural pine, birch, and maple woods.

The backstory is just as wild as the animals. When the owners first moved north to start the park, they lived in an unfinished garage for six years while building enclosures and the gift shop — even selling their pickup truck to make it through the second winter.

More than 30 years later, visitors still stroll shaded forest paths, spending an hour or two getting surprisingly close to animals from around the world… all in the middle of the U.P.

This is our Cub aka our miracle daughter and this trip was all about a little daddy daughter trip to spend time hunting together to bring in the new year. We love to spend time together at our properties across northern MI to enjoy ourselves but also just to check in on each of them to make sure everything is on par with what our guests have come to expect from us!

I always love getting back into to the woods in a heavy snow to listen to how quiet the woods are coated in the sound dampening blanket of snow. The noisiest thing is my footsteps sounding like Godzilla.

We’re still hoping to add a couple more cabins in the next few years but also we’re looking to add cross county skiing trails! You’ll be able to access right off your porch to trails throughout our 60 acres. When we finish these trails they will open in January and remain open till snow is gone.
