🌿 Not every unforgettable vacation comes with a ticket line. 🦅

Established in 1961, Dauphin Island's Audubon Bird Sanctuary protects more than 160 acres of maritime forest, freshwater wetlands, marshes, and pristine Gulf shoreline. It also serves as a critical stopover for thousands of migratory birds crossing the Gulf of Mexico each year.

What makes this destination special isn't just its history. It's the experience. One moment you're walking beneath towering pines on a quiet boardwalk, the next you're standing on an uncrowded beach watching waves roll in from the Gulf. It's the kind of place that reminds you travel doesn't have to be rushed to be memorable.

At Bramble & Tide, we're always searching for destinations that offer more than a photo opportunity. We look for places with stories, history, and moments that stay with you long after you've returned home.

If your perfect getaway includes nature, wildlife, scenic walks, and hidden gems off the beaten path, let's start planning your next adventure.

Today we remember the courage, sacrifice, and bravery of the men and women who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, we honor those who served and never came home.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. ❤️

Step into the silent cities of the dead in New Orleans — where history is written in stone, iron, and legend. ⚜️

Built above ground due to the city’s high water table, New Orleans cemeteries date back to the 1700s and reflect a blend of French, Spanish, African, and Creole influences unlike anywhere else in America. Walking through these historic tombs tells the story of epidemics, famous families, voodoo traditions, jazz culture, and the resilience that shaped the city itself.

From the haunting beauty of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 to the elaborate marble vaults found throughout the Garden District, cemetery tours offer one of the most authentic glimpses into the soul of New Orleans — where every pathway holds centuries of stories waiting to be uncovered.

Can’t I just sleep in… 😴
Some mornings just feel like this.

No alarms. No responsibilities. Just one more hour… or five.

But here’s the thing some of the best travel moments happen when you don’t stay curled up.

Early flights.
Quiet beaches before the crowds.
Sunrises you didn’t plan for… but never forget.

So maybe today starts slow but don’t sleep through the life you’re dreaming about ✈️

When you're ready, I’ll help you find the reason to get up early 😉

The Architecture: "Ecclesiological Gothic"

The church, completed in 1859, is one of the most pristine examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the South.

The Architect: It was designed by Frank Wills, a famous architect who specialized in the "Middle Pointed" style of 14th-century English architecture. This is one of only 13 surviving churches he designed in the U.S.

The Spire: The massive octagonal spire reaches 151 feet toward the sky. Look closely at the "triple-stage" bell tower; it’s reinforced with stepped buttresses that give it that sturdy, monumental look.

The Details: Above the front entrance, there is a stunning 15-foot-tall traceried window. If you walk closer, you'll see a limestone band inscribed with a Gothic-style font that reads: "Reverence My Sanctuary."

The History: A Civil War Survivor
This building isn't just pretty—it has a "survival" story. During the Civil War, many churches in the South were used as stables or barracks by Union troops, often resulting in heavy damage.

The "Reverence" Legend: Local lore says that when Union officers saw the inscription "Reverence My Sanctuary" above the door, they were moved to spare the building from destruction or desecration.

National Recognition: Because it remains so remarkably unaltered (it still has its original wood-paneled ceilings and heart pine floors), it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1990.
