St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce Announces New Executive Director, Christina Ouellette
________________________________________

Madawaska, Maine — The Board of Directors of the St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Christina Ouellette of Madawaska has accepted the position of Executive Director, officially beginning her role on June 29, 2026. Her appointment marks an important milestone for the Chamber as it prepares for a new chapter of growth, collaboration, and renewed engagement with businesses across the St. John Valley.

Christina Ouellette is an accomplished operational leader and healthcare professional with over a decade of experience driving organizational excellence, compliance, and team management across Maine. Backed by a strong clinical background as an LPN Charge Nurse, Christina has excelled in environments demanding strategic problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration. Her leadership tenure includes serving as a Residential Manager, where she directed multiple facility sites, managed large-scale staff teams, and enforced strict regulatory compliance.

Originally born in Connecticut, Christina moved to Northern Maine in 2007 and is a long-time resident of Madawaska. Deeply committed to local civic leadership and economic growth, she serves as the Chairman of the Madawaska Planning Board, guiding community development and zoning initiatives. She is also a local entrepreneur and the founder of Bramble & Tide Travel Co.
Reflecting on her new role, Christina shared her enthusiasm for the work ahead.

"I am incredibly honored and thrilled to step into this new position (says Christina). Northern Maine has been my home for nearly two decades, and I am deeply invested in its future. I look forward to working closely with our local businesses and non-profits to foster strong partnerships, support sustainable economic growth, and champion this unique community we all share."

The Chamber’s leadership expressed equal confidence in the direction Christina will bring:

Board President Sam Corey emphasized the significance of the hire and the excitement surrounding the Chamber’s next steps.
"We are delighted to welcome Christine as our new Executive Director. She enters the role highly motivated, bringing a wealth of experience that we believe will greatly benefit our members. We appreciate the patience and understanding from the communities we represent as we worked to fill this important position. We're excited to resume operations with fresh ideas and new perspectives on growing commerce and tourism in the St. John Valley."

Vice President Brian Bouley highlighted the thoughtful approach the Board took in selecting the right candidate.
“We are very pleased with our decision to hire Christina as Executive Director after going without one since December 2025. The Board of Directors did not want to rush into looking for a new Executive Director since we were preoccupied with our largest event of the year, the Top O’ Maine Trade Show, and wanted to give their search the serious attention required to find the right person, and I believe we did that.”

Christina’s arrival comes at a pivotal moment for the Chamber, which is eager to re-energize its programming, strengthen partnerships with local businesses, and continue promoting the St. John Valley as a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. Her leadership is expected to bring renewed structure, visibility, and forward momentum to the organization’s mission.

Welcome Christina!

Your feedback was heard loud and clear! With help from our local community at the Forever Young Club and the Town of Madawaska, the yard sale will take place as planned with a more streamlined sign-up process and some exciting new tech to enhance your shopping experience!

🛍️ MADAWASKA TOWN WIDE YARD SALE 🛍️May 29th-31st!!!!

*We are unable to accept online payments- payments will need to be taken to the Forever Young Club.

A longtime community tradition is back, thanks to a collaborative effort between the St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Madawaska Forever Young Club, and the Town of Madawaska!

This year, we are combining small town tradition with new technology to make the event easier, bigger, and more interactive than ever before.

Residents can officially register their yard sales online through https://visitmadawaska.org/ where you can:

✔️ Submit your yard sale online
✔️ Upload pictures
✔️ Be featured on the interactive town wide yard sale map
✔️ Help shoppers create custom shopping routes based on the items they are looking for

Looking for antiques? Baby items? Furniture? Tools? Collectibles? The new route planner helps visitors efficiently navigate sales throughout town based on category searches.

Prefer the traditional route? We’ve got you covered there too.

📍 Paper applications and cash payments can be made directly through the Forever Young Club during operating hours.

📍 Official yard sale signs can also be picked up at the Senior Center.

This event has always been about neighbors, community spirit, hidden treasures, and at least one person trying to sell a treadmill they swore they were going to use in 2017.

We are excited to see the Chamber, Forever Young Club, and Town working together to help continue an event that so many people look forward to each year.

So start cleaning out those garages, sheds, basements, and mystery storage bins labeled “important.”

Let’s make this one of the biggest Town Wide Yard Sales yet.
