The Dolomites have been on my list for a long time, and now that I’m here, I can honestly say the scenery is off-the-charts spectacular!

We flew into Venice and took the direct train from Venice Santa Lucia station to Bolzano, where we spent one night at the lovely 4-star Parkhotel Laurin. It’s right in the center of town and only about a five-minute walk from the train station. Bolzano was such a pleasant surprise—a beautiful town and a great place to spend our first night.

The next morning, we hopped on the bus for the easy, hour-long ride to Ortisei, our home base in the Dolomites for 5 nights. We’re staying at the charming 4-star Hotel Stetteneck, right in the heart of town. The location could not be better!

One of the things I love about Ortisei is how easy it is to get up into the mountains. Two major lifts leave right from town—one taking you up to Alpe di Siusi and the other to Seceda.

And once you get up there…WOW. Pictures just don’t do it justice. The dramatic peaks, green meadows, hiking trails and mountain huts are absolutely breathtaking!

Barcelona — what a day!
I spent today exploring this incredible city and saw so many of its highlights — the Gothic Quarter, colorful Park Güell, the breathtaking Sagrada Família, and the sweeping views from Montjuïc.

To finish the day, I joined a wine and tapas tour that stopped at four different restaurants — each one better than the last! It was the perfect mix of culture, flavor, and fun.
