SCENIC: Take a scenic Jet Boat tour and experience one of America's great rivers. This 2 hour 40 mile tour takes you along a pretty section of river that can't be seen from a road.. you from Madison downriver to Captains Quarters for a riverside lunch. Along the way pass through a scenic stretch of the Ohio River not seen from a road. Bald Eagles nest along the way and many historic sites make for a fun afternoon with friends.

2 Day KENTUCKY RIVER ADVENTURE: This 155 mile round trip takes you from Madison up the Kentucky River for an over night stay at Frankfort Kentucky or round trip from Frankfort to Madison. The river has crested and is now beginning to drop. Based on the new river level forecast from the USGS we expect to be back on the river for tours next Weds June 3rd for the 40 mile 2 hour Scenic River Tour. This has been a challenge to deal with. Last week the National Weather Service forecast we would get an inch of rain and we got 8 inches! The river came up over 17 feet. Thank you for your patience as we wait for the river level to drop. This is Georgia. She is the Cruise Director for Rockin Thunder River Tours. She does a great job of keeping things running smoothly and our paperwork in order. She is great at recommending fun things to do around Madison and helps guests find places to stay and places to eat while they visit Madison. Georgia has some interesting river stories she may share with you when you check in for your tour. She grew up near Madison across the river in Kentucky. She has a PhD in Nursing and retired as the Dean of Nursing from a University in Florida. She is a great addition to the Rockin Thunder crew. Capt Paul Nicholson

I stopped by Lockport Kentucky this morning to check on Darrell and see how he had recovered from the devastating flood in April 2025. He is has done an amazing job cleaning up his store and cleaning up Lockport. Thank you to everyone that donated to help him and Lockport. Darrel is ready for our Kentucky River Adventure tours to begin again and will be providing the great turkey or ham sandwiches for our Friday lunch stop in Lockport. Meet Captain Ron, the newest addition to the Rockin Thunder River Tours crew! Originally from Buffalo, New York, Capt Ron brings decades of boating experience from the waters of Lake Erie and Lake Michigan to the beautiful Ohio River. After a successful career as a building contractor, he teaches Construction Technology and continues sharing his passion for learning and leadership. Capt Ron is also a dedicated therapy dog trainer who, along with his two Springer Spaniels, visits hospitals and nursing homes to bring comfort and smiles to others. Last year, he graduated from Sea School and earned his US Coast Guard Master Captain License. With his wealth of boating knowledge, and genuine love for the Ohio River, Capt Ron is excited to share unforgettable river adventures with every guest aboard. Meet deckhand Doug. He grew up in Madison and retired as the Street Superintendent for the city. He was excellent at the job! Doug has been a big supporter and help to me since I started this business in 2012. He spends the winter in Florida as a volunteer at a state park near Estero. Meet Captain Jasper — one of the finest Captains on the Ohio River and a valued part of the Rockin’ Thunder family. Raised near Madison, Indiana on a family farm, Jasper graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Animal Science. He began working with Rockin Thunder River Tours as a deckhand at just 16 years old, and by age 19 he attended Sea School in Alabama and earned his US Coast Guard Master Captain License — becoming the youngest Master Captain on the Ohio River at the time.
Captain Jasper is dedicated to passenger safety while making every tour fun, exciting, and memorable. When he’s not on the river, he enjoys his dog, working the family farm, Ford trucks, and old IH tractors.
I’ve had the privilege of watching Jasper grow from a teenage boy into a good man and an outstanding Captain. In my 50+ years of boating, I’ve worked with many Captains and Capt. Jasper is simply the best. He has my highest respect and confidence, and I’m proud to have him as part of the Rockin Thunder crew.
