We will be closed for the Madison Regatta hydroplane races from June 28 through July 6th. We loan them our dock and ticket kiosk and they take over the boat ramp. Since 1929 boat racing has been a Madison tradition. The Hollywood movie "Madison" depicts the town spirit around "our boat" Miss Madison. Watch the movie then come see and hear these amazing race boats do almost 200 MPH on the river. GO MISS MADISON ! Capt Paul Nicholson

Robin serves as the Wildlife Advisor for Rockin Thunder River Tours, bringing a lifetime of passion, education, and experience to our understanding of the natural world along the Ohio River.
Her love of the outdoors began as a young girl growing up in California, where she spent countless hours exploring the rugged beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the vast landscapes of the Mojave Desert. That passion led her to earn a degree in Wildlife Biology from Colorado State University. Following graduation, Robin worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, specializing in wetlands management and mapping projects throughout the United States.
Robin also served as president of an Audubon Society chapter and remains an avid bird watcher and wildlife enthusiast. Her knowledge has been invaluable to Rockin Thunder River Tours. She has taught me a tremendous amount about Bald Eagles and the remarkable recovery of wildlife populations along the Ohio River. In fact, much of the information we share with our guests about Bald Eagles comes directly from Robin's research and expertise.
Each winter, when the leaves have fallen and the nests become visible, Robin helps locate the many Bald Eagle nests that line the river. Her dedication has helped us better understand and appreciate one of the Ohio River's greatest conservation success stories.
I have tremendous respect for Robin's knowledge and expertise. I am deeply grateful for all the guidance she has provided over the years. And on a more personal note, I must admit that I am also quite fond of her amazing smile.
Thank you, Robin, for being an important part of the Rockin Thunder team and for being the wonderful person that you are.

This is Steve Allen. Although Steve retired as a crew chief for Rockin Thunder River Tours two years ago when he turned 80, he will always be part of the Rockin Thunder family.
For more than a decade, Steve was an invaluable member of our crew. He helped with challenging maintenance projects, developed many of the river stories we share with our guests, researched historic flood levels, and even came up with most of the corny jokes that we still tell today.
Steve grew up along the Ohio River in Patriot, Indiana, and spent his summers boating with his family. His lifelong connection to the river gave him a wealth of knowledge that he generously shared with all of us. Steve proudly served our country in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division before building a successful career as a turbo technician with Cummins Inc..
During the 14 years I have known Steve, he has taught me more about this river than anyone else. His knowledge, wisdom, sense of humor, and willingness to help played a major role in making Rockin Thunder River Tours what it is today.
I am proud to call Steve my friend and will always be grateful for his friendship, advice, and countless contributions over the years.
Thank you, Steve, for everything you have done.

There is a special kind of tranquility found on a river. The gentle flow of the water, the rustle of leaves along the shoreline, and the endless sky above create a sense of peace that settles deep within the soul. On the river, life's distractions fade away, replaced by calm moments that remind us to simply enjoy the beauty around us. Capt Paul Nicholson
