This historic once in 500 year August flood continues to challenge everyone along the river including the Corps of Engineers who are trying to let water out of dams at a pace fast enough to get rid of excess water but not so fast as to flood downstream towns and cities. The current forecast is for the river to stay very high through the weekend and then begin dropping sometime early next week. We now anticipate being off the water through next Weds August 26th. Man thinks he has control of the river then along comes an unprecedented rain event like we had the last week and it becomes apparent that nature is in charge. Capt Paul Nicholson
