Hello from Madison,
With very mixed feelings, we have decided that it is time for us to retire as Innkeepers of 2nd Street Carriage House and Inn. Over the past nine years, we have enjoyed getting to meet many of you and are grateful for your friendship and business. We have been fortunate to have had only positive interactions with all of you, and will miss our conversations along the way. We know that we are leaving the guest houses in good hands.
As of November 26, 2025, Carrie Parris is the new owner of 2nd Street Carriage House and Inn, and will become the Innkeeper of the guest houses. Her parents live right next to the Carriage House, on the other side of the fence. Many of you have upcoming reservations and be assured that your reservations will continue to be honored by Carrie. We are attaching Carrie’s letter of introduction, along with her contact information. We hope that this transition will be smooth for everyone.
We want to thank you again for choosing our guest houses for your stays in Madison. It has been our pleasure and honor to be your Innkeepers.
Best wishes,
Sandy and Dick Freeman

Hello! My name is Carrie Parris and I am the new owner of the 2nd Street Inn & Carriage House. I grew up in Madison and my parents live on the other side of the fence in the red brick home that backs up to the carriage house. I love Madison dearly and have been a guest of Sandy and Dick multiple times in recent years. I own an Airbnb on Poplar Street - just around the corner (https://www.airbnb.com/l/c9XeipHQ). I so enjoyed creating the experience my guests have in that home that I was thrilled at the opportunity to take the reins from Sandy and Dick. I am excited for this next chapter.
In terms of what these changes mean for you and your future bookings, I will reach out with more details soon. What it looks like for you will depend on the timing of your reservation as we transition. If you have a reservation within the next 6 weeks, you will get an email and text from me with clear instructions about how to check-in, check-out, and pay, as well as contact info if you need anything while you are here. I actually live in Seattle with my husband and young kids (Henry 11, Max 9), so my parents will be your local support team. If your reservation is further than 6 weeks away, I will reach out to you once my booking system is online. At that time, you will have the choice of either paying a one-time invoice for your existing balance online or rebooking your dates in the new system if the pricing difference is beneficial for you.
I do want to apologize for any inconvenience as we try to manage this transition as smoothly as possible. It is important to note that I will not be able to accept cash or checks as payment in the future. As a remote owner with young kids and full time day job, I need to rely on my booking and payment systems to accurately manage accounts and tax obligations. I appreciate your understanding!
With that, I will simply say ‘Happy Holidays!’ and I hope you will continue to love staying at the 2nd Street Inn & Carriage House!
Warmly,
Carrie Parris
