What an incredible accomplishment for the Old Madison Training School restoration effort in less than a year! The progress that has been made is a testament to the vision, dedication, and hard work of so many people who care deeply about preserving this important piece of Madison County history.

The entire community is invited to attend the Training School Debt Retirement Community Celebration on Saturday, June 13th from
9 am to 1 pm and learn more about the restoration efforts, available community resources, and ways to get involved moving forward.

We are excited to award up to $20,000 in funding to local non-profits and community-based organizations that are already making a positive impact in our community. Individual project requests may be up to $5,000.

If your organization has a project that strengthens, serves, or uplifts Madison County, we encourage you to apply before the deadline!

🇺🇸 A Beautiful Day of Remembrance in Downtown Madison 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, our veterans stood proud — lined with American flags and the moss-draped oaks that make our town one of a kind. Thank you to everyone who came out to honor the men and women who gave everything for our freedom.

Today we paused to remember. To remember the service members who never came home. To remember that the freedom we enjoy was bought at a price we can never fully repay.

We were especially moved to see generations come together — young and old alike — standing in gratitude for those who served and those we’ve lost. That is the heart of this day.

To the families of the fallen — we remember. To our veterans — we thank you. Today and every day. ❤️🤍💙

🌸 A Weekend of Heritage, Honor & Community 🌸

What a meaningful few days for our community!Plenty of beautiful events brought folks together this weekend to honor history and celebrate how far the community has come.

🎉 20th of May Parade & Festival

The celebration came alive with the 20th of May Parade and Festival — a vibrant gathering of music, color, food, and fellowship. It was wonderful to see so many families, vendors, and community members come out to mark this special day together.

🕊️ 20th of May Wreath Laying Ceremony

Friends, families, and community leaders gathered at the historic gazebo to commemorate the 20th of May — a day rooted in freedom, remembrance, and pride. The ceremony recognized the 2026 Jr. Miss 20th of May and the Miss 20th of May Queen, and a wreath was laid at the monument in tribute to those who came before. A wonderful turnout on hallowed ground.

🥁 2026 Heritage Banquet Celebration
Friday evening, the Restoration Committee hosted an elegant Heritage Banquet Celebration — an evening of fellowship, fundraising, and renewed commitment to restoring the historic Old School and Junior College. From the beautiful purple-and-gold settings to a talented young drumline, every moment reflected the heart of this community.

Congratulations to Executive Director Ray Mobley, the Restoration Committee, and everyone working year-round toward land acquisition, restoration, and revitalization.

The journey continues. 🙌🏾
