Hey Afro Discoveries family, we need your help! Our second group of travelers are headed to Senegal and The Gambia in a few days to learn, serve, and lift together. While there, we’ll host a Menstrual Health workshop at Kotu Senior Secondary in Kanifing, Gambia so girls can manage their periods with dignity and stay in school. We've raised over $1,300 toward period essentials to donate.

We’ve raised an additional $700+ in the last two days to rally support for two schools in the village of Yene, Senegal, where classrooms are running short on basics school essentials. We are almost at our goal of $1,000 to help the 4,000+ students at these deserving schools.

❤️ How to help: Please see the attached letter for more details.

We’ll share photos so you can see your impact. Thank you for fueling dignity, learning, and opportunity across classrooms in Senegal and The Gambia.

Thank you, Party In My Pants, and thank you, community. Your support will help us host a menstrual health workshop at Kotu Senior Secondary and deliver reusable pads, underwear, and emergency kits directly to students. We’ll also leave a sewing machine and supplies so the school can keep making pads after we go. Every gift will make a real difference for students’ health, dignity, and time in class. We’ll share photos so you can see your impact in The Gambia and Senegal. ❤️

We’re honored to share an inspiring story from a longtime supporter, Marion, who is heading to The Gambia and Senegal this November on a Roots of Giving service and cultural trip with Afro Discoveries.

During her visit, Marion will be working with local schools to teach students about menstrual health and hygiene, a groundbreaking effort in communities where these conversations are often limited. Even more powerfully, she’ll be teaching girls and boys together, helping break down stigma and promote understanding.

Many students in these areas lack access to basic menstrual supplies, leading to missed school and lost opportunities. Marion will be taking Party In My Pants reusable pads and materials to help teach students how to make their own, empowering them with dignity, knowledge, and independence.

How You Can Help:

Marion is raising funds to purchase reusable pads from us to take directly to the schools. Every donation goes toward getting these essential supplies into the hands of students who need them most!

If you are able to donate, anything helps! If not, please share this post!
Venmo: -Morgan-1 (last 4 digits: 4047)
Please donate by Tuesday, November 4th

Your generosity will help fight period poverty, support education and equality, and spread love and empowerment across the globe! 💖
