London is incredible. But if it’s the only place you see in the UK, you’re missing most of the story. 🇬🇧

Four things nobody tells you before your first trip to Paris. 🥐

1️⃣ Always say “Bonjour” when you walk into a shop or café. Skipping it comes across as rude — saying it changes everything.
2️⃣ Your server won’t bring the check until you ask. They’re not ignoring you; lingering is the point. Just ask for “l’addition.”
3️⃣ The Louvre is closed on Tuesdays. The Musée d’Orsay is closed on Mondays. Plan accordingly.
4️⃣ Dinner starts later than you think. Most Parisians sit down around 8pm or later.

On August 2, 2027, the sky over Luxor, Egypt, will go dark in the middle of the day. 🌑

It’s a total solar eclipse — one of the longest of this century. Near Luxor, totality is expected to last more than six minutes, right over the Nile and the ancient temples of the Valley of the Kings. The path of totality also crosses southern Spain and North Africa, so there’s more than one way to see it.

So why am I mentioning it ten months out? Because hotels along the path of totality have a limited number of rooms, and eclipse travelers from around the world have been planning for this one for years. Nile cruises during that window are in especially high demand.

Egypt isn’t one of my usual specialties, but a moment like this doesn’t come around often — and I’d love to help you be there for it. Fair warning: August in Egypt is hot, so this is a trip where planning your days around the heat really matters.

Happy World Animal Day! 🐾

Most people picture Italy in summer. Ask the locals, and they’ll tell you October is when it really comes alive. 🍇

This is harvest season. The vendemmia — the grape harvest — is wrapping up across Tuscany and Piedmont, and the countryside smells like crushed grapes and woodsmoke. In Alba, the famous White Truffle Fair is underway, and restaurants shave truffles over fresh pasta like it’s an everyday thing. Chestnut festivals pop up in tiny hill towns. By the end of the month, the olive harvest begins, and you can taste olive oil that was pressed just days before.

The summer crowds are gone. The light turns golden. And the food is the best it’ll be all year.

If you’ve only ever pictured Italy in July, fall 2027 might change your mind.

Today’s my 50th birthday. 🎂

I’ve spent nearly the last decade leading up to this one helping other people plan the trips that become their favorite memories — which, if I’m honest, is a pretty good way to spend a career. Every itinerary I build, I’m thinking about the version of that trip someone will still be talking about years from now, the way I hope they’ll talk about this one.

So today’s less about a big announcement and more just a thank you — to everyone who’s trusted me with a piece of their story so far, and to whatever the next fifty years of them look like.

Here’s to a lifetime of memories, indeed.

Happy National Coffee Day. ☕ Two of my favorite destinations could not do coffee more differently.

In Italy, espresso is fast — you drink it standing at the bar in about 90 seconds and move on with your day. In Paris, a café isn’t really about the coffee at all — it’s an excuse to sit for two hours and watch the street go by.
Same drink, completely different pace of life. Which one sounds more like you?
