There’s something about Europe that makes you want to keep going back.

Maybe it’s wandering the streets of an Italian town with nowhere you need to be. 🇮🇹
Sailing past castles along the Rhine. 🏰
Watching the Swiss Alps roll by from a train window. 🇨🇭
Island hopping through Greece. 🇬🇷
Or discovering a place you hadn’t even thought about visiting until suddenly it’s at the top of your list.

This month, we’re falling in love with Europe, and we’re taking you along with us. ❤️

We’ll be sharing destinations we love, different ways to experience Europe, cruise and land vacation ideas, travel tips, and some of the itineraries that have us dreaming about our next trip across the pond.

What if Thanksgiving looked a little more like ocean views and a little less like a sink full of dishes? 😂🚢

Holiday and school-break cruises are some of those vacations that are worth planning way ahead of time… especially when you’re traveling with family and need cabins near each other or rooms that can accommodate everyone.

That’s why we’re already looking ahead to Fall Break + Thanksgiving 2027.

You don’t have to have every detail figured out yet. Sometimes getting the right cabin secured is the best place to start. 😉

What activities should you book in advance on Icon of the Seas?

Crown’s Edge is your first priority This thrilling skywalk experience has limited time slots and books up FAST. Same goes for ice skating shows and the jaw-dropping AquaDome performances like “Wizard of Oz at Sea.”

Shore excursions in popular ports like Cozumel and CocoCay should be booked 60-90 days out, especially if you want the cabanas at Perfect Day at CocoCay. Those disappear almost immediately.

What you DON’T need to pre-book: Most waterslides and pools are walk-up. The Main Dining Room and Windjammer accommodate everyone. And many of the live music venues and entertainment options throughout the ship’s 8 neighborhoods are spontaneous, which is part of the fun!

My advice? Book your must-dos before sailing, then leave room in your schedule for discovering unexpected favorites onboard. Some of the best cruise moments happen when you’re just wandering and stumble upon something amazing.

That “Research Less, Relax More” approach starts with smart pre-cruise planning so you can be spontaneous once onboard.
