A 360 aerial panorama from Ko Olina Resort. Honu Lagoon is our usual swimming hole each morning.🌺🙌

Who has been here?

As locals, we get there early. The regulars here are retired folk who come from places like Waipahu, Waikele and Waianae; this is a safe space for them. 🤙

The west side of Oahu is green this time of the year.

Ko Olina sits on shoreline once used by Hawaiian aliʻi as a quiet retreat. The modern lagoons are new, but the area’s roots run back to fishing grounds, salt ponds, and west‑side families who’ve known this coast long before it became a resort zone.

Disney’s Aulani Resort is in this panorama.

A 360 interactive panorama from Hapuna Beach, Kohala Coast, Big Island of Hawaii.

Hapuna is one of the largest white sand beaches on Hawai‘i Island. The shoreline shifts with the seasons, broad and calm in summer, narrower and rougher in winter. The sand is fine and pale, bordered by lava bluffs and dry kiawe trees.

Generations have come here to mark time: first swims, family picnics, quiet walks at dusk. The old trail still threads along the bluff, where kiawe trees lean inland and the ocean never stops moving.

Love this serene capture of a quiet moment on the North Shore. One person, alone, surrounded by sand, sea, and sky. This 360° panorama shows the calm side of Oʻahu, somewhere near Turtle Bay. 🐢🌊

Near Kulima Point, just east of Turtle Bay Resort,

Locals call this stretch Turtle Beach. Green sea turtles used to bask here, and the name stuck. Turtle Bay Resort is off to the left, across Kulima Point.

This part of the coast feels different. No crowds, no noise, just open shoreline and stillness.

An awesome aerial 360° panorama from Honu Lagoon • Ko Olina Resort, West Oʻahu, Hawaii. USA

This scene captures one of our favorite morning swim spots. Honu (Turtle) Lagoon is calm, clear, and best enjoyed early, before the parking fills and the sun climbs high.

Honu Lagoon is one of 4 lagoons at Ko Olina.🐢

Share your memory of here it in the comments.🙏🏻

Ko Olina is the quiet counterpoint to Waikīkī. Its name means “Place of Joy,” and it lives up to it: 642 acres of manicured coastline, protected lagoons, and golden West Side light.

The land here carries deep history. Ancient Hawaiians cherished it for its abundance and beauty. Today, it’s home to luxury resorts, cultural events, and Lanikūhonua, a cultural site that practices and propagates Hawaiian culture🌺

Ko Olina is glorious. This panorama invites you to pause, reflect, and take in the view. 🌅

An older 360 aerial panorama of Kīlauea Point and Kilauea Lighthouse on Kaua‘i’s north shore. A peaceful place, we have not been there recently.

Locals still call it Kilauea Lighthouse, despite its official renaming to the Daniel K. Inouye Kīlauea Point Lighthouse. Built in 1913, it stands on a 180-foot bluff within the Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge.

This 360° image is old; please do not fly over the refuge due to its protected status and active seabird nesting. The cliffs and offshore islets are critical habitat for native species like the red-footed b***y, Laysan albatross, and wedge-tailed shearwater.

Kaua‘i is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands geologically, and Kīlauea Point offers one of its most dramatic coastal views.

The refuge is open Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last entry 3:30 p.m.). Timed-entry reservations are required and must be booked online. Entry is $10 per adult, plus a $1 reservation fee. Children under 16 are free. Federal passes are accepted but still require booking.
