Trails that are perfect for Spooky Season 👻🎃

Get into the spirit of the season on the trails at Lost River Cave and Dinosaur World, Kentucky!

🦇 For their 15th year, Lost River Cave in BGKY has their Scarecrow Trail! Dozens of scarecrows created by locals are currently on display along their beautiful nature trails. It is free and open everyday from dusk til dawn.

🦖 Dinosaur World in Cave City, Kentucky has some spooky friends visiting their prehistoric paradise. It’s a roaring good time.

🐾 Furry friends are welcome at both locations!

I spy with my little eye…the NEW John Muir Legacy Trail sign recently installed at the start of the Mammoth Cave Railroad Bike and Hike Trail located at Sloan’s Crossing Pond inside Mammoth Cave National Park. In partnership with Mammoth Cave National Park and Cave Country Trails, the Edmonson County Tourism Commission is proud to mark the portion of the John Muir Legacy Trail in our area.

Walking right off the pages of renowned naturalist, explorer, and writer John Muir’s travelogue and nature journal, A Thousand-Mile Walk to the Gulf, this trail expands a love and appreciation for the outdoors by highlighting and elevating Muir’s footsteps on his journey by celebrating the beauty and history of our region while ensuring the accuracy of Muir’s historic path. By encouraging physical activity and fostering a deep connection to the unique natural landscapes of Kentucky, this trail honors and upholds Muir’s legacy of exploration, appreciation, and conservation.

We invite everyone to experience the wonders of Kentucky!
