The Historic Manassas Farmers Market is now open! Thursday Market will be open 'til 1pm, and Saturday Market starts at 8am, ribbon cutting at 10am, and through 1pm. 😃

📸 Throwing it back all the way to the beginning! The Historic Manassas Farmers Market started with incredible community leaders like Mary Colgan Finnegan, Jack Rollins, Agnes Colgan, Harry J. Parrish, and Carol Merchant Kirby.

We've grown a lot since then, and we're excited to kick off another amazing season starting April 10 & 12! 🥕🥦

Here are the road closures per Manassas City Police Department for this evening's First Friday.

First Friday is April 4, 2025. Theme: Celebrate Manassas 🎉

There will be road closures from 5:30pm to 11:00pm and parking restrictions from 4:00pm-11:00pm. The closures will be on Center Street, West Street, Battle Street, and Main Street.

"Celebrate Manassas" First Friday is here! Today's First Friday theme is inspired by the art banners that are now up throughout town. Look for the lampposts and you will find the "Celebrate Manassas" banners attached to them, with "Celebrate Manassas" interpreted through the eyes of many local artists.

The weather so far is looking (and feeling) promising for a fun evening in Historic Downtown Manassas. Everything kicks off at 6pm, and most stores will remain open 'til at least 9pm. DORA (designated outdoor refreshment area) will be in effect, bands will be playing, DJs playing music, entertainment for kids - come on up with the whole family and enjoy a fun evening of strolling, shopping, sipping, and so much more!

It's Spring and you know what that means... mural, and bee season! Let's start with mural #1, which was just completed (artist, Nicholas Zimbro). It can be found between Public House Kitchen & Brewery and Lume (on the old coin shop building). This floral mural turned out wonderful, and the color contrast is just amazing! Spring is the perfect timing for this beauty.

Mural #2: Bee City U.S.A.! Patricia (and at other times Cassidy) can be seen hard at work on the mural that adorns the side of Kerbobble Toys, facing Grant Ave. This mural is one that brings a lot of happiness as you look at all the various bees, insects, flowers, and hidden critters. It also ties in with the annual Manassas Bee Festival which is coming up on June 21, 2025.

We're only a few days away from April's First Friday! The theme for this Friday is simply... Celebrate Manassas. Flowers are blooming, temperatures are rising, people are emerging from their winter hibernation - it's going to be a great night in Historic Downtown Manassas.

Come on out and enjoy the festivities, the bands, and the newly hung art banners which you will find hanging on the lampposts all throughout town. The banners inspired this month's theme of Celebrate Manassas.

As always, remember this is a DORA event (Designated Outdoor Refreshment area) which means, you have a drink from a participating establishment and walk around town with it - as long as it's in the designated cup that you will be provided. No outside coolers, bottles, cans, etc. - let's keep it fun, safe, and have a great time!

Just a little reminder if you're out and about in beautiful Historic Downtown Manassas (or anywhere else local)... Please, PLEASE, refrain from putting ci******es out in potted plants / mulched areas. It's been way too dry in the area and foliage/mulch is highly ignitable. Thankfully a keen eyed Downtown visitor spotted a smoldering potted planter today along Center Street and it was dealt with quickly. Please be mindful, and thank you!

Our local businesses continue to support our public schools and community by donating raffle basket items for today’s Pancake Supper fundraiser hosted by the Manassas City Public Schools Education Foundation. They constantly support US…let’s be sure to support THEM.

News from City of Manassas, VA - Government:
Starting Thursday, March 20, through May 2, the Public Works Department will be preparing the Olde Towne Inn Lot for temporary additional parking. This $160,000 parking expansion project will smooth out the ground, doubling parking capacity to create over 130 new parking spaces.

This short-term expansion is part of a broader effort to support redevelopment discussions for the Olde Towne Inn lot and MIFCO properties. Additionally, the future construction of a parking garage will impact the City Hall parking lot, making this expansion a crucial step toward achieving the Downtown redevelopment goals.

It's the luckiest day of the year and many establishments in Historic Downtown Manassas are celebrating (check our stories)! You might be thinking it's because today is St. Patrick's Day 🍀, right? You are only partially correct... it is also... Mistletoe on Main Street Monday! 🌿 Just look for the lights and the sign.

What better way to secure your share of luck this month than by visiting the mistletoe growing on Main Street (rare in urban areas) and making sure to snap a pic 🤳 of you and your significant other - then make sure to tag us for a triple dose of good luck! And yes, feel free to fly solo as well, just make sure to snap a pic and tag us!
