This chapel is beautiful. Here’s a great opportunity to visit in this Franciscan jubilee year, a local treasure, the mothership of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. The architecture, chapel and art are treats for those of us who love old fashioned beauty.

Our pilgrims love the guided tours usually led by the gracious, witty and knowledgeable Sister Caritas, the order’s archivist. On our new Franciscan route, you walk the entire Devils River State Trail then cut east to Lake Michigan. The Mariner Trail takes you south by a lighthouse into Manitowoc; catch the Ice Age Trail segment on your way to Holy Family Convent.

Our first group pilgrimage outside the State of Wisconsin, with veteran WI Way pilgrims Corrine, her son and his 2 friends, along with Connie and her friend Mary to celebrate the beatification of now Blessed Fulton J. Sheen and to appreciate the incredible beauty of this wonderful Catholic city. Prayers for all pilgrims who have made the long journey offering prayers along the way. Happy Monday pilgrims. Diane and Brian are back on the trail today and heading south to Stangelville. Glad to reunite and help shuttle them again, as they explore new paths and Ice Age Trail sections along the way.

A bit humid but otherwise a fine afternoon for a quiet walk through the stations, penance, prayer and contemplative reflection. No crowds today and it’s simply glorious!

A mini pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, for the exhibit honoring the Catholic Saints who shaped America, with some friends and chance encounter with other pilgrims along the Wisconsin way. Happy 250th Anniversary America! 🇺🇸
