Day 9 on the Wisconsin Way
Starting out from the Manitowoc Holiday Inn, our ladies were shuttled to morning Mass at St John the Baptist Church in Plymouth and received a special blessing after.

They started there days walk just outside Elkhart Lake walking along the Ice Age Trail and scenic roads, making their way toward Greenbush Group Campground, a peaceful wooded camp located right on the Ice Age Trail.

The night ended with music by Dave Hall and wonderful company with Pam and Tom Brink, who brought hors d’oeuvres partly made from items from Pam’s garden. The garlic scape hummus was fantastic, along with blackberry wine from Door County.

A beautiful ending to another day on the Way.

Day 11 on the Wisconsin Way

With rain predicted at 100% for the day, our ladies woke up in Kewaskum and were shuttled over to St Matthius Chapel then on to Dundee, where they walked over 8 miles on the trails between Dundee and Mauthe Lake stopping at the Kettle Morane State Forest -Northern Unit Headquarters.

Once again, no rough weather touched their heads. They have been protected the entire way - under Our Lady’s mantle and the Holy Cloak of St. Joseph.

They ended the day with another overnight in Kewaskum at the The Cofee Corner Guesthouse for a good night’s rest.

These ladies continue to be warriors on the Way. 🙏🚶‍♀️

Day 10 on the Wisconsin Way

From Greenbush along the Ice Age Trail to Mauthe Lake, the plans had to change quickly when a storm rolled in and dropped marble-sized hail on Brian just as he was setting up camp at Mauthe Lake.

At the very same time, our 4C pilgrims called to check in. They were just down the road, yet remained untouched by the day’s weather - and amazingly, they have continued that way the entire pilgrimage.

Brian was able to find last-minute accommodations in Kewaskum, where our ladies settled in for a good night’s rest.

Under Our Lady’s mantle and the Holy Cloak of St. Joseph, they keep walking forward in faith.

These ladies are warriors on the Way. 🙏🚶‍♀️

Day 7 on the Wisconsin Way

From Holy Resurrection Monastery in St. Nazianz, the ladies made stops at Lax Chapel and Mary Queen of Hearts Chapel in Steinthal before walking down Steinthal Road into Rockville, ending at Schleswig Cemetery in Kiel before heading back to Manitowoc for Saturday night Mass at St Francis of Assisi and a blessing after! Then to the Holiday in for a good night's rest.

A beautiful day of prayer, rural roads, and steady miles on the Way.

These ladies continue to be warriors on the Way. 🙏🚶‍♀️

Day 8 on the Wisconsin Way with the 4C Group!

From Steinthal Cemetery in Kiel to Elkhart Lake, with a peaceful walk by the lake and The Osthoff Resort, plus a stop at Off the Rail Café.

Afterward, they went to see the new Sacred Heart: His Reign Has No End movie, followed by a wonderful Italian dinner at Luigi’s in Manitowoc, then off to bed at the Holiday Inn.

They even walked extra today to get a head start on tomorrow’s miles.

Yesterday, Day 6 of 13: Clarks Mills to St. Nazianz.

Early morning Mass on Friday at St. Gregory, then after a quick shuttle, the 4C Group resumed their waking from Clarks Mills. Shortly after noon, we were warmly greeted by Bob, of the local Historical Society, for a quick pilgrim’s lunch then a tour of the museum. Then Brian led a guided walking tour that included the old - now decommissioned - St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Checked into Holy Resurrection Monastery at 3pm and settled in for prayer followed by good company, food and conversation courtesy of the monks.

Day 5 of the 4C Group Pilgrimage

After finishing Day 4 with 15 miles on the Devils River Trail, Cindy, Connie, and Corrine began Day 5 with a morning tour of Lumen Christi Farm because of the storm.

Then they walked from Cato into Clarks Mills, continuing through the beautiful Wisconsin farm country, then they had lunch at Spudz.

Along the way, they visited the historic marker where the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were founded, then received a tour of Holy Family Convent with Sister Caritas.

At 3:00 p.m., they joined in prayer for the consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in union with the USCCB bishops and the consecration of the United States.

From there, the Wisconsin stops continued with Pine River Dairy, followed by a walk on the trails at Cato Falls as a light rain came through.

Now they are settled in at the Manitowoc Holiday Inn for a night of rest before continuing the journey.

Storms, farm roads, sisters, cheese, waterfalls, and faithful steps - all offered to the Sacred Heart.

This is the Wisconsin Way.
