Y’all… I am overflowing with gratitude tonight. ♥️

I have to give a special thank you to LaTarsha Ross Shelton. What started as two girls sitting at a table talking about how much we love our parish turned into this Job Fair and Business Expo. It’s just unbelievable. Tasha, thank you for dreaming this up with me none of this happens without you.

To every business that showed up, set up a table, and took the time to sit down and talk with our neighbors and some of you hired folks right there on the spot THANK YOU! You didn’t just fill a job opening today, you changed someone’s life and invested in our community. A very special thank you to the Clista A Calhoun Center and Terri Byrd for hosting this event.

And to Mayor Thomas Jones, Sheriff Jayson Richardson, and Parish Administrator Michael Norton— thank you for showing up for our community. It means the world when our leaders walk through the door and stand alongside us.

What started as just a simple idea turned into something truly special for our DeSoto Parish family today. Our first-ever job fair, and to see it come together the way it did I’m honestly speechless.

Hey y’all! If you’re trying to figure out what to do this weekend, we’ve got you covered two awesome events happening today!

🚢 History buffs, this one’s for you!
Head to Mansfield State Historic Site at 10:00 AM for “Ironclads, Tinclads, Gunboats & Submarines” with the Twin Blends Northwest Louisiana History Hunters and Dr. Gary Joiner. You’ll hear all about the ships and stories that shaped the Civil War on the water — plus they’ve got Porter’s Fleet relics on display to check out in person!

🎄 Feeling festive? Christmas came early!
Swing by Brassica Farm (1683 Evergreen Blvd, Stonewall) from 10am–2pm for their very first Christmas in August! There’s a bounce house, crafts, and raffles ($1 a ticket), and it’s all for a great cause proceeds go to Roy’s kids. Bring a new unwrapped toy, gift card, or a little extra cash to donate if you can.

Two totally different vibes, same weekend — go make some memories! ♥️♥️♥️
