Hooo dat? Wahooo! After our killer tuna fishing on the 8 day we decided to get into troll mode on these speed demons. It was very slow fishing, if we got bit on the troll there was about a 50% chance it was a tuna or Mahi and not the right species. Cast after cast on the wahoo bombs every time we stopped and I kept striking out. Finally I connected and the drag was screaming! With the fish near the boat, yet to see it, my rod broke. I didn’t loose the fish but it ended up being a tuna. I was losing hope as nightfall came. I was determined to get one the following day in the early morning bite. With about half the passengers awake and some eating breakfast we had our first hookup and I sent my Captain Jimmys wahoo bomb out. It didn’t take long and the drag was screaming, this time it felt just right! The most fun I’ve had fighting a fish and what felt like the most rewarding! We scratched up 20 fish in about 1.5 days and I felt relieved that even if we went home early I wouldn’t care. Next up we were headed overnight to catch some yellowtail!………………………
