One of the most stunning floats in Michigan is along the Crystal River in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore...where you'll often see salmon running the river as they make their way to Glen Lake to spawn during the fall! Hence the name, the water here is crystal clear so you can see the sand and pebbles that line the bottom...making it one of the most scenic rivers in the state. The gentle current winds through quiet cedar forests and grassy banks, making it perfect for kayaks, canoes, or tubes. And you'll often see other wildlife along with the salmon, including white tail deer, otters, turtles, frogs bald eagles and blue heron!
