While some couples balk at the thought of spending 20+ hours in the air, not Lyndsay and Kwasi. When this adventurous couple reached out to me, they knew they wanted to celebrate the start of their happily-ever-after in a far-flung, exotic destination—and incorporate a long, strategic layover to maximize the number of places they’d get to experience.⠀

With a desire to spend time on the beach and in the jungle, they eventually fell in love with a honeymoon design that took them from the deserts of Dubai to the treetops of Bali—complete with monkeys serenading them from beside their villa’s private pool.⠀

72: The year construction started, making the structure nearly 2,000 years young⠀⠀
50,000: The number of people during the Roman Empire who cheered on gladiator fights, gazed at exhibitions of exotic animals and watched the ex*****on of prisoners inside the Colosseum⠀⠀
6 million: The number of visitors today who swing by the Colosseum every year to tour it, snap selfies in front of it and otherwise stand in awe of its history⠀⠀
Would a stop in Rome to see the Colosseum have a spot on your Italian honeymoon itinerary? Yes? No? Maybe so?

I’d just opened an email from the travel agent Mr. Smitten and I were working with on our honeymoon, and—rather than seeing a few amazing trip proposals, as I’d hoped—I found a long list of links to the exact types of experiences we’d told her we wanted to avoid. There was no personalization. No effort. No attempt to see what was important to us and our relationship.⠀
