After recently moving to Mapleton, Iowa, I’ve had the opportunity to experience firsthand the welcoming spirit this small town has to offer.
I stopped into Kraft Clothing, owned by John, as well as Mapleton Hometown Variety & Crafts, owned by Carol, and was met with kindness and genuine hospitality at both places. While I unfortunately didn’t have the chance to meet Carol herself, the young woman I spoke with at the store was very professional, extremely pleasant, and left a wonderful impression.
These businesses truly reflect the charm of a close-knit community — friendly people, welcoming environments, and that unmistakable hometown feeling that makes you want to come back.
The people I’ve met here have been warm, supportive, and inviting, and as someone new to town, that has meant a lot.
