📆 July is flying by!

Since Colorado, we've traveled through Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee!

✴Highlights: Kayaking with one of our daughters in Mammoth Cave NP, Gem mining/digging for crystal points in Arkansas (and soaking in another hot spring!), pontoon boating in Oklahoma and sightseeing in the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.

We live in a beautiful country!

⬆️Adjusting our Altitudes in Colorado!

This place has it all! We arrived in Estes Park which is a few minutes from one of the entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park. We set up near town and amenities- elevation 7500ft.

We again packed in as many activities as humanly possible. 😂 George took a guided fly fishing trip - and he caught fish! 🐟 () Thanks Ben!

ATVing at 9500+ elevation was incredible! With the rain the day before = mud puddles! The best part! Half day independent ride, so much fun driving the mountain trails. ()

I took two interesting art workshops in town; Wire Wrapped Rings and Landscape Alcohol Inks. Great local experience. () Eclectic shop full of local artists creations plus classes to create yourself.

Rock Climbing was a more adventurous excursion. Years ago I did this in gyms and was excited to do it in the wild! We hired guides who took us out cragging. This was legit! We did three different climbs plus repelling. Hours later, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Top notch outfitters. Many Thanks Jason & Luke! ()

Another passion of mine is rockhounding. The shop here was like a candy store! I bought a few pieces (Aventurine, Blue Calcite, polychrome Jasper) and enjoyed their outdoor space. Plan an hour or so to grab a drink next door and sit by the lake out back. The ducks love being fed.
()

We recommend the restaurants The Rock Inn and Smokin' Dave's BBQ. 😋

Tips:
*****
•Either before your arrival or day of, book your excursions. Sometimes places are closed weekdays or booked.

•Do call ahead to get on the restaurant's wait list.

•Experience altitude issues? Up your water and potassium with dried fruits. Oh! Canned oxygen is a thing! Pick it up at the grocery to have on hand.

•Reserve your entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park online. Go to Reserve America online asap. Read up on entrance availability if you don't get in on the passes. Plan on the wee morning hours.

•Gather your provisions and do your laundry before arrival here. Slim pickins'.

🤠 After the Tetons we visited several other Wyoming towns;

➡️Evanston (best laundromat ever!)
➡️Rawlins (awesome church!)
➡️Cheyenne (Curt Gowdy State Park is highly recommended!)

(I think we hit all four corners of Wyoming!)

Along the way we hiked, hand-fed bison from a train, learned about rodeos and caught up on laundry.

When we travel we have about two weeks worth of laundry to catch up on so it takes awhile. I usually bring something to read while I wait. It was here that I met an older gentleman doing his laundry. We talked for quite awhile and I learned he was a local sheep ranch hand originally from Peru. His stories about driving sheep and cattle, being an interpreter for other newbie Peruvian ranch hands and much more made the time pass quickly.

While we miss our friends and family back home, meeting people from all over the world enriches our travels. RVing definitely puts you into the local culture!

Next stop, the Rockies!
