Once reduced to just 27 birds in the wild, the California condor’s story is now one of the greatest wildlife revival efforts in North America. Today, the population has grown to more than 560 condors, with over half flying free in the wild thanks to decades of captive breeding, habitat protection, and reintroduction programs.

With a wingspan stretching nearly 10 feet, spotting a condor in the wild is more than rare, it’s a reminder that conservation works when people refuse to give up. Every flight overhead carries the weight of resilience, restoration, and hope for the future of the Southwest’s wild places. 🖤🪶

Last week's answer: Bobcat!

This was a tricky one! Bobcats though rarely seen in the canyon are an important part of the canyons ecosystem and their tracks can be found throughout it.

Congrats to our winners: Jennifer Vyhlidal , Jody Winward , and John McEvitt! DM us your address and we will mail you a Hatch sticker!
