We can't wait to welcome you to Longhorn Cavern State Park! Our website - visitlonghorncavern.com - has all the info you need to plan your visit, but this post will give you some basic info on the park 🏞️
💰We are a free day-use park. That means you're free to explore our walking trails and historic buildings during the hours the park is open. We only charge for cave tours.
🧭The only way to see the cavern is by guided tour. Check the website or story highlight for up-to-date tour times.
🌦️ Tours run rain or shine!
🌡️ The cave is 68 degrees Fahrenheit with 70% humidity year-round
⏰Plan to arrive at the park 30 minutes before the start of your tour. This gives you time to park, check in, use the bathroom, and get to the tour starting point. Each tour starts with a safety briefing, and guests who miss any part of that briefing will not be permitted on the tour. If you miss your tour we will move you to the next available time, but on busy days we can be booked for hours.
🚶Our Walking Tour is our most popular tour. It's a 90-minute, 1.1-mile trip through the cave. You'll learn all about Longhorn Cavern's fascinating history and geology.
🕳️The Wild Cave Tour is a 2 to 3 hour crawling, climbing, and squeezing adventure through the cave's undeveloped tunnels. It's an excellent beginner sport caving tour and you don't need any prior experience.
🕯️The Blacklight Tour shows off the cavern in a new light. You'll walk through the cave with a lantern and a blacklight to see how our active formations glow. This tour is only offered weekend mornings and tends to sell out far in advance!
🎟️Tickets are available on our website. Walk-ins are welcome, but tours can sell out so we recommend reserving your spot in advance.
