Elk and Mule Deer in the Rockies!

Hi Dolphans! Naturalist Bob on my last day in the Canadian Rockies. Took that ride down Bow River Valley but did not find THE BOSS grizzly bear but it was a great day! My wife Cathy and I were able to locate 3 elk and 2 mule deer as well as a walk to Johnston Falls, a very powerful flow of water through a very narrow canyon. All in all, a great day to end a fascinating trip!

Looking for THE BOSS Thursday!

Hi Dolphans! Today, Wednesday, my wife Cathy and I explorered Takakaw Falls, second largest waterfall in Canada, also a Natural Bridge and finally Wapta Falls, nearly 350 feet wide with a 180 foot drop. With one day left, we’re going to look for “The Boss”, a 500-650 pound grizzly sighted near Bow Valley Road recently. The Boss is the biggest, baddest male in the Banff area, thought to have sired 70% of the cubs in his territory. He has been hit by a train….TWICE! Hoping to share a photo if we see him and if we don’t, that’s how things go. If you don’t hear from us again, well, that’s why he’s called THE BOSS! Stay tuned!

Hi Dolphans! Naturalist Bob, still on vacation near Banff National Park, Alberta Canada, we t for a walk on a glacier today. Absolutely phenominal! An Ice-bus drove us to the glacier field where my wife Cathy and I and 300 of our closest friends got an up close look at hoe glaciers are formed! AMAZING! Saw some Big Horn Sheep afterwards, checking everything on our bucket list. Stay tuned!

Hi Dolphans! Naturalist Bob on Vacation in British Columbia! Arriving by seaplane to a remote lodge in the northwest rain forest, in the first 4 days we saw eagles, grizzly bears, whales, orcas, Stellar sea lions, humming birds and much more! Bucket list…….check, check, check, check! Now in Banff National Park enjoying the northern Rocky Mountains, lakes, hikes and more! Stay tuned!
