Went on TRIP ADVISOR this morning searched our company, Dolphin Explorer Marco Island, and discovered we are ranked #1 of 165 OUTDOOR THINGS TO DO IN OUR AREA! The only dolphin study team in southwest Florida, 5 awards in 2025, 3 awards in 2026 and you can look for us on PBS TV in the next few months! GO TEAM DOLPHIN EXPLORER!!!!!!

Baby dolphin #5 documented 10/8/ 26 here on north Marco Island Fl! Mom is Ollie and this is her first calf!

WHOOP WHOOP!!!! Baby dolphin #5 documented by the Dolphin Explorer survey team on Marco Island Fl today! Mom is Ollie and this is her very first offspring!!!! Ollie’s siblings are Ripple, Mocha, Bubbles, Piper and Dixon. The new calf is named OZZIE!!!! The vertical lines on Ozzie are called “fetal folds”. Just like a human baby, dolphins in the womb are curled and, when they emerge at birth, these folds are very visible and help us obtain an approximate age at first sighting. Ozzieis just a few days old here. Good luck Ozzie and welcome to our world!!!!!! dolphin-study.com

High jumping lady along side the Dolphin Explorer today!

Adult female dolphin Samantha B seemed to challenge the Dolphin Explorer to a race today! Her 2 year old calf Jewel was close by with a front row seat. This lady and her little one spend most of their time in south Marco Island but, it’s birthing season, and she is likely coming to the north end of the island to see some new babies! Great to see Samantha B and Jewel visiting here again! Stay tuned to the Dolphin Explorer for LOTS of updates in the next several weeks about our new calves. 4 documented so far and more on the way! WHOOP WHOOP! Baby dolphin #4 of this 2026 Fall birthing season here at Marco Island, Fl! Mom is Destiny and this is her 4th offspring. She gave birth to Irma in 2017, Mango in 2020, Kismet in 2023 and just a few days ago baby #4 arrived and, since Destiny means fate or lot, folks on the Dolphin Explorer named this little one LOT! Welcome to the world!

Baby #3 of this Fall birthing season put on a show!

Baby dolphin #3 of the Fall birthing season was documented on September 30, 2026. Mom is Cosmo and this is her 5th offspring. Also there was Cosmo’s 3 year old Galaxy. The new calf appears to be just a few days old and is named NEBULA! Stay tuned for more details!

A very special birthday wish!

Naturalist Bob here, wishing my wife Cathy a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She’s a mom of 4 beautiful daughters, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a well respected and ver accomplished nurse, a Florida Master Naturalist and an amazing volunteer at Venture Church. Her’s wishing you the happiest birthday EVER and thank you for a wonderful life. Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!!!!
