This morning I ran out of coffee...

I literally woke up at 4:00 a.m. as usual and it hit me...

That's what I needed to get from grocery outlet! Dang it...

So I managed to go back to sleep till about 7:00 when our local Starbucks opens...

This is a new Starbucks and a very nice one with a great local staff. I'd recommend going inside rather than waiting in the busy drive-thru to save you time. This morning as I got my coffee I realized that better make a video for the page as I enjoy this delicious medium roast coffee... Located on the main drag of Highway 140 on the left side about halfway through a 1 mi town you will find Starbucks...

They really saved my butt this morning as I head out to start my day!

Today is the grand opening of Yosemite Crystals, which is mariposa's most unique gift shop. Owner, Daniel stocks local gems and minerals that he finds on his claims and properties around Mariposa! Daniel spreads himself pretty thin sometimes but today's the day! Thank you so much to all of the followers in this group as I'm now able to make a live video! Look at this amazing first clean out from a half bucket of dirt! It took me a while to pull all the nuggets out and put them into a jar!

This is what happens when you hit the right spot on bedrock! Great job guys!!!

This morning I had a special trip. My original post got deleted and didn't upload but let me try my best to recreate it..

I had a group of Chinese seniors from the Bay area come out today. They dug for gold and found an amazing little concentration in their first half bucket they sluiced...

There must have been over $200 of small nuggets in the cleanout!

He might ask Daniel how do you feel when people hit an abundance of gold? Do you feel jealous do you wish Maybe you were able to get it?

Maybe 10 years ago I felt some type of way but I've learned over the years that the real gold is sharing that experience with my guests... The actual gold that we find is just the bonus!

Towards the end of the trip one of the guests came up and presented me with a beautiful origami creation from a $1 bill that they said is good luck. Little gestures like this mean everything to me! I was touched to share this once-of-a-lifetime experience with my guests!

This morning I had a nice gold panning trip with a man named Ken. He came with his wife, who was admittedly just there to tag along cuz she likes to look for crystals...

I took a call from Ken about 2 weeks ago, and convinced him to come out to the mine! Since he's an admitted cheapskate I offered his wife the kids rate!

Ken turned out to be a real nice guy. He even brought his metal detector on his vacation as he likes to search parks. He even made a cool find near the Mariposa Fairgrounds.

Even though he's faced some adversity, his Spirit was infectious! I started as a metal detectorist in Southern California on the local beaches... After our trip today I'm motivated to get back out and do some metal detecting for coins and relics not just gold!

Nestled at the corner of highway 49/41 in Oakhurst, this is a clean Mccy D's. If you have a problem with your (sometimes cold food) they will gladly remake it for you 👍. Take it from a former McDonalds employee...This is a "good" McDonalds.

This is a bit of a personal post from the guy that started this group...I get a bit emotional sometimes 😭

Hi 👋 I'm Daniel, owner of Yosemite Crystals. I started my business in 2017, shortly after I moved to Mariposa. I came into this city because I was interested in its rich Gold Rush history.

I instantly fell in love with Mariposa... I remember coming in and my car was breaking down. Turned out it was just a short in the ground that a great mechanic in town (Lous speedy lube/write it down for your visit) was able to fix.

During that fateful drive into mariposa, I was looking around as the sunset to see if there were houses I could walk to to ask for help if I broke down. Little did I know I was driving past properties that would someday be my home ..

Once I arrived in mariposa, I fell in love with this quaint little town. If you don't know Mariposa has one of the last historic downtowns in all of California! In fact as far as I know it may be one of the last truly historic downtown s..
