Last Week, MRCC Executive Board Member, Daphne Phalon and the MRCC CEO, Michelle Mercier, attended NFIB’s Small Business Day at the State House to represent the voice of our business community.

Key concerns raised included the rising costs of healthcare and energy — but the most urgent issue is the state’s plan to recover $2.1 billion in misallocated federal unemployment funds (covid era) from employers.

Shifting this burden to employers will hurt businesses and raise unemployment rates.

We’re urging lawmakers to work with all parties to find alternate solutions!!
