This is what I was talking about on my previous post 🫣

As you can see, there is an ocean view from the balcony of the room. The only thing is, it’s also facing another resort 🤣

So yes, at least I was inside the room right by the balcony doors admiring the slight ocean view we have then a random naked man showed up to hang his wet clothes in their balcony 🤣

Also word of advise: please do not take chances of showing up in your balcony naked. You may think nobody will see you in a split second that you do but you’ll never know 😩

Are you paying extra for an unobstructed view from your room?! Or are you okay with sliver of ocean view because the room doesn’t matter?

I’m usually okay with a slight ocean view until I was placed in a room that was facing another resort but has an ocean view from the balcony. And while I was looking at the balcony from our room, a naked man appeared on the other side 😩

I swear I was flabbergasted 😲🤣 the next day we upgraded to an oceanfront suite lmao 😜

Some people’s hobby are sports and mine happens to be knowing entirely too much about resorts that I recommend to my clients ✨

Which rooms are actually worth upgrading to, which beach looks better online than in person, where I’d send a honeymoon couple vs. a family, and which resort I’d choose for 50+ wedding guests.

Destination weddings and tropical vacations have become a pretty big part of my world, and somehow I still get excited every time I discover somewhere new.

Basically… if there’s a beach involved, I probably want to know everything about it. 😂✈️🌴

5 nights is the perfect length for me for Caribbean Mexico trips and for Asia, Europe or those that requires more than 12 hours flight I’d love it to be at least 10 days.

There is something you night not realize when booking this resort…

This is Sanctuary Town located at Sanctuary Cap Cana.

The resort itself is adults-only, but Sanctuary Town is a separate dining + entertainment area that outside guests can visit including families with children.

So if you’re choosing Sanctuary specifically because you want that completely adults-only bubble, this is a detail worth knowing before you book.

Would I still recommend it? Absolutely — for the right traveler.

The one thing I would not book this resort for? If beach is a priority.

The resort is beautiful, but if a long, gorgeous Caribbean beach is at the very top of your wishlist, there are other resorts in the area I’d match you with first.

And this is exactly why I say, a beautiful resort is not always for everyone.

Let’s talk about room categories because “Ocean View” might not mean what you think it means. 👀

And sometimes it’s better to set the expectations first rather than arriving and be disappointed.

This room at Secrets Moxché is technically considered an Ocean View. Is there an ocean? Yep. Can you see it? Yep. Is there also a whole roof in front of you? Also yep. 😂

When a resort says Ocean View, it generally means you’ll have some view of the ocean from your room or balcony, but it doesn’t guarantee an unobstructed view or that you’ll be directly facing the water.

If waking up to nothing but the ocean in front of you is important, Oceanfront is the category I’d be looking at instead.

It’s a small difference in wording, but a BIG difference when you walk onto that balcony.

But hey this still not a bad view at all especially during sunrise! 🌅

Secrets Moxché tip you might want to save for later 👀

When dinner is over, don’t call it a night just yet.

Look for the resort’s speakeasy, but you have to note the password or else 😅 they won’t let you in! JK, they will, but they’ll ask the password first.

Who would have thought what is behind the resort’s pharmacy? There’s an actual secret door in there that’ll lead you to a speakeasy bar 😉
