Looking for live music? We have two nights of music for you, both benefiting our community that has been impacted by recent flooding.

Event 1: Feather Ridge Presents: A Night For Vinton County. See Hunter Peebles + The Moonlighters on October 3 at 6:00 pm. This concert will be held at the Vinton County High School and is free to the community with donations appreciated.

Event 2: Rooted Boots Connection Presents rising Nashville star and Vinton County native Trey Hedricks on October 17. Gates open at the Vinton County Fairgrounds at 5:30 pm. Admission is $10 per car with donations appreciated.

We are thrilled to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for our future Visitor's Center and the Ohio Law Enforcement Museum. You are invited to join us on Monday, November 9th at 11:00 am at 106 South Market Street, McArthur, OH - home of the former Vinton County Sheriff's Office and Ohio's first female sheriff, Maude Collins. Maude took over after her husband, Fletcher, was killed in the line of duty. She then won election in 1926 to stay on as the Vinton County Sheriff.

The Vinton County Visitor's Center and Ohio Law Enforcement Museum project is made possible thanks to funding from the America 250-Ohio Commission.

We are so excited to announce Appalachian Ohio artist Nora Steele will have a special art gallery at the Rio Grande McArthur Center on November 20th. This FREE TO ATTEND event features art inspired by the magic of nature, including pieces directly inspired from scenes here in Vinton County!

Nora Steele is an Artist that celebrates the diverse and often overlooked flora and fauna of the region.

The Vinton County Department of Tourism and the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College are proud to host Nora as our opening event for what will become a series of events for our community and visitors.

Deer hunting season has arrived and here in Ohio's Backcountry, we have plenty of public land for you to explore.

Here are just a few of our favorite spots:
- Zaleski State Forest: 24,895 Acres
- Superior Wildlife Area: 2,242 Acres
- Wayne National Forest: 1,917 Acres
- Tar Hollow State Forest: 2,242 Acres (In Vinton County)
- Vinton Furnace State Forest: 12,089 Acres
- Buckeye Trail Association's Pretty Run Preserve: 230 Acres
- Wellston Wildlife Area: 1,311 Acres

Vinton County is a two deer county - meaning a hunter may harvest no more than two deer during the 2026-27 season. A hunter may use two either-sex permits, two deer management permits, or one of each. Hunters must have all required permits, licenses, and abide by laws and regulations. For questions leading up to your adventure, please contact the owner/land manager of the land and/or Ohio Division of Wildlife
