All Politicians need to follow the Golden Rule.
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."

We need to pray for Trump and our government to find ways to humbly listen and act for the good of everyone, especially those weak and broken. Help them to see their position as for others, not themselves. In Jesus’ name we pray.

The bloodiest single day of the Civil War was waged on September 17, 1862. Union General George McClellan led his forces against those of Confederate General Robert E. Lee for nearly 12 hours. The result was 23,000 casualties and the deterrence of Lee's attempt to enter the North. Ten thousand lost their lives or were wounded in just the first four hours of battle. The fight ended with a Union victory. It is remembered as one of the war's key turning points, especially since the strategic win allowed Lincoln to announce his Emancipation Proclamation.

President Lincoln had placed McClellan in command to stop Lee's invasion of the North. However, even though McClellan's men outnumbered those of the rebels, the general did not pursue Confederate forces following the battle. This escalated the tension between McClellan and the President, and Lincoln fired him from his position (twice) due to his cautiousness on the battlefield.
