The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce presents our July 4th Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display on Saturday, July 4, 2026!

Fireworks will light up the sky above Marsh Mountain at Wisp Resort overlooking Deep Creek Lake on July 4th. The display is set to begin around 9:30 pm and is set off from the tubing hill at the Wisp Mountain Park.

Prime viewing locations for the annual display include:
Scenic overlook along Rt. 219
Wisp Resort
Lawn at Garrett College
Boat on Deep Creek Lake, particularly McHenry Cove
Local Businesses in McHenry

Before the fireworks, don't miss Wisp's free Stage Wisp concert by The Kelly Bell Band from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm under the saddle tent on the front lawn! Bring your blanket and lawn chairs and hot eats and cool drinks will be available for purchase on the outdoor deck. Farm & Art Market at Wisp begins at 5 pm.

From July 11 - 12, it's Victorian Chautauqua in Mountain Lake Park, which offers something for everyone!

You won't want to miss Vaudeville in the Street with magic, classical guitar, Circus Stella, and Crellin Steel Drum Band. Maryland's Poet Laureate, Lady Brion along with historical portrayals of FDR, Charles Lindbergh, and more. Lectures on the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and the Appalachian International Trail. Soprano, Savanna Butcher, will introduce you to opera.

All weekend, you can get an astrological reading, be amazed by Lars, the contact juggler, commission a tintype photograph, enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride through the historic district, and look up to see the glamorous stilt walker.
