Rebecca Penno has been designing homes in the Washinton DC metro area since 2006. Born and raised in Virginia, she attributes the state’s beauty and southern tradition as inspiration in her design. She founded Penno Interiors after being mentored by award winning architecture and interior design firms in the Washington, D.C. Through her exposure to high-end interior design, Rebecca has the ability

to walk a client through the entire construction process from ground up. Rebecca’s experience includes collaborating with custom home builders and architects to bring a client’s dream home to fruition. It is through her meticulous eye she is able to offer her talents in interior architecture, finish selections and furnishings. Penno Interiors also caters to clients who have the flexibility of working room-by-room in their existing home. These clients may need a paint consultation or assistance in renovating their kitchen. It’s that time of year! Our hotel rooms are booked and this time next month we will be spending 4 days sit testing furniture, sourcing accessories, seeing the new collections by our go-to vendors and being introduced to new ones. This is not only how we stay current on what products are released but how we maintain face to face relationships with vendors we’ve built trust in working together for over a decade. You won’t find us looking for what’s trending, instead we’ll be on the hunt for inspiring product design that fits just right for our clients. Now you know how the magic works - you can trust that we are only using the best in your home.

Just an iPhone photo capturing the many design decisions thoughtfully considered for this bathroom renovation. In the foreground the layering of edge details and paneling around the bathtub. In the background a shower with a window facing the front of the house (window treatments to come). Look at that sunlight pouring in over the carved shower bench. The list goes on and on. This is what we love to do, nothing ordinary.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses. My strength - selecting the materials for this kitchen. My weakness - knowing what to do with the 200 photos I just took on my iPhone of this renovation. Now you know, in case you were wondering why I post 10 times a year…if you’re lucky. I should stick to what I’m good at, so I suppose you’ll see 9 more posts in 2025 from me! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Often our guest bedrooms end up being the room of leftovers, right? Guilty 🙋🏻‍♀️ Your old bed from dare I say your bachelor pad. Or the glider lounge chair you had in the baby’s nursery who is now in high school. You’ve upgraded your own bedding so the guest bed gets the hand me downs. But why? Don’t we want to make our guests feel like guests? That’s what we love about this room. It was about creating space for someone to know they are welcome to stay and relax. So perhaps the next time you start to move that lamp you got on FB marketplace to furnish your first apartment you think twice and choose to donate instead. Let’s give your guest a place they will never forget!
