At long last! With the author who has only been outsold by Shakespeare and the Bible, please join our first-ever Agatha Christie pilgrimage, dedicated to her Miss Marple novel, A Murder is Announced.

Casper ter Kuile and Stephanie Paulsell will co-lead a small group of pilgrims through East Sussex, dedicating class time to the theme of mystery. Pilgrims will ask themselves questions like: how do we navigate the ordinary mysteries of our lives—such as the mystery of ourselves and the “self” in relation to others? What do we do with the mysteries we cannot solve?

Spooky season seems so far from spring, but just imagine your future self (and your fave traveling companion!) delighting in gorgeous cliff views, delicious, leisurely meals, and playful murder mystery games. We can’t wait to see you in England this October!

Returning pilgrims receive a 5% discount on tuition, and payment installments are available to US customers through Klarna at checkout.

Attention, Austenites! We are pleased to announce our first ever pilgrimage dedicated to Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, led by none other than the ever lovely, Julia Whelan! Mark your calendars and gather your passports in time for this incredible opportunity, September 6-10, 2026.

Pilgrims will engage with this beloved novel through the theme of responsibility in the Cotswolds area of England at one of Common Ground’s favorite venues, the Double Red Duke. Through immersive class time, beautiful walks, and delicious meals, pilgrims will contemplate questions like: where is the line between responsibility to others and responsibility to ourselves? What do we gain, personally, from being a responsible person — and perhaps more importantly, being perceived as one? And does the benefit of that perception render it less virtuous?

Both shared and private rooms are available through first come, first served registration. Should you wish to utilize a payment plan, you can manage tuition through installments via Klarna at checkout. Link in stories and bios — we hope to see you there!

Join Common Ground and Carmen Maria Machado for a pilgrimage dedicated to Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, May 18-22, 2026.

Our incredible faculty (we will remain calm!) will lead pilgrims in daily class time, reading the text through the theme of haunting, asking questions like: What living metaphors have become bound up in the domestic, the house, the body? Who are our ghosts? In what ways have we been trapped, or trapped ourselves? Whose old stories do we feel stuck in? How do we break out? How do we honor our most unruly selves?

We couldn’t be more excited to offer this experience for early summer along the Cornish coast. What a truly wonderful time for us to enjoy, grounded in a place du Maurier wrote about often, as we explore her novel together.

Both shared rooms and private rooms are available, with payment plans provided at checkout. Link in story and bios — register today!

Happy Christmas (in July 2026) to all who celebrate!

Join Common Ground + and July 7-11, 2026 for our inaugural pilgrimage to the Occitanie region of France, dedicated to Julia Child’s collection of letters, As Always, Julia. This trip is an immersive pilgrimage centered around the ways we build community over a crowded (or intimate) table. Gather ye round!

In the picturesque French countryside, pilgrims will spend class time with Chelsea and Ashley and bask in the summer glory of Hotel Domain Des Clos, a gorgeous wine estate transformed into a beautiful four-star accommodation. Opportunities for tastings, pairings, as well as a group cooking class are sure to make this culinary-inspired pilgrimage a total treat.

This pilgrimage is live now on our new website! Check it out at commongroundpilgrimages.com. Shared rooms, private rooms, and even a few partial scholarships are available for this trip. Link to register is in our bio and stories! 🥐🍷

If October has slipped through your fingers leaving you eager for more autumnal magic, wait no more!

Join Common Ground + Beth Silvers and Alise Napp of October 5-9, 2026 for our first ever pilgrimage to Quebec, Canada in celebration of Louise Penny and her contemporary mystery Three Pines series.

Pilgrims who join this gorgeous trip will rest their heads at the stunning Spa Eastman, an all-inclusive retreat center nestled in hundreds of acres of piney forest. When the group isn’t enjoying delicious meals and stunning walks, they’ll be diving deeply into the first two books of the Inspector Gamache series, considering the texts through the theme of “human nature.”

This pilgrimage is live now on our (brand new) website! Check us out at commongroundpilgrimages.com. Link to register is in our bio and stories. 🍂

Dearest pilgrims, our final pilgrimage announcement for the 2025 season is here! We invite you to join us for an autumnal experience this November in Concord and Cape Cod, Massachusetts to honor Louisa May Alcott and her most renowned novel, Little Women.

For the first time since 2018, we are returning to Orchard House to celebrate Alcott’s life and work. Beth Silvers of the Pantsuit Politics podcast will lead our pilgrims in an opportunity to consider Alcott and her characters through the themes of grief and hope. This trip is sure to offer profound opportunities for reflection and connection–take it from one of our former Little Women pilgrims:

“Pilgrimages led by Common Ground are welcoming, adaptable spaces that at the end of the day, give you permission to make them what YOU need them to be. It turns out that I needed a warm, beautiful, friendly, inspiring few days to reinvigorate who I am. What a gift!”

Also, the New York Times just named Concord one of the most desirable travel destinations for 2025, so we hope you’ll take advantage of their endorsement and come along for this beautiful trip. Payment plans are available, and returning pilgrims receive 5% off their tuition.

Dearest Austen lovers, come celebrate Jane’s 250th birthday with Common Ground as we return to Derbyshire, England for our fourth Pride and Prejudice pilgrimage! Back by popular demand, we are thrilled to gather in September to honor Austen and her most beloved heroine, Elizabeth Bennet. Sarah Stewart Holland of the Pantsuit Politics podcast will lead our pilgrims in an opportunity to consider Austen and her characters through the relationship of status and self. This trip is sure to be absolutely inspiring - take it from one of our former Pride and Prejudice pilgrims:

“This experience was what I’d call a ‘well-filler.’ I felt confident I’d love the content and location, but I was delighted to leave the experience with life-long friends. As an introvert, I was shocked to find that I wanted to spend much of my valuable ‘free time’ walking and talking with my fellow pilgrims, which felt so natural. Investing time in thoughtful study, reflection, and friendship-building in the idyllic setting of a beloved book made this pilgrimage a re-TREAT. I thought this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but I simply must sign up for another one.”

Our Persuasion trip sold out quickly, so if you want a chance to experience Austen’s England during this historic year, we encourage you to register now! Payment plans are available, and returning pilgrims receive 5% off their tuition.

Grab your private room or shared room spot today - link to register is in our stories and bio!
