If we’re being honest, ANY day on Oahu is better than a day at our desks. However, as a travel agent that wants the very best possible experience for their clients, here are three of the best times to visit Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa:

Late Spring (April–May): Crowds are lighter after Spring Break, the weather is gorgeous, and the vibe is relaxed.

Fall (September–early November): Hawaii’s trade winds roll in, and you can often find better rates. Plus, it’s right before the holiday rush.

Mid‑January–February: After the holiday crowds leave, Aulani feels like your own hidden retreat. You might even spot some humpback whales off the coast!

For many families, a vacation isn’t complete without their four‑legged best friend. And while boarding or a sitter works for some, I know others just can’t imagine leaving their pup behind.

Walt Disney World offers several solutions for guests who want their pups nearby during their trip.

Dog‑friendly Resorts: Select resorts, like Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans Riverside, and a few others, offer pet‑friendly rooms with designated walking areas and special amenities. Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground even has its own dog park!

On‑property Boarding: If you prefer not to keep your dog in the room with you, Best Friends Pet Care (across from Port Orleans Riverside) offers boarding, day camp, and even grooming, so your dog gets their own vacation too.

Will I regret not having Universal Express Pass? Probably. Well, most likely. OK, yes. This ticket enhancement can really level up your entire experience. If time is money, and Express Pass cuts your wait time by about half of standby, then by that logic, it’s worth the splurge. Not to mention, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is now part of the program!

But here’s where working with me is there are a couple of different options to choose from AND some resort stays come with Unlimited Express Pass INCLUDED for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Plus, there are always split stays and other strategies to implement. Universal Orlando Resort is generally easy to tour, but on the planning side, it gets a little tricky. Especially when trying to both stick to a budget and not feel like you did.

Of course I’m talking about Rope Drop. For anyone new to this concept, here’s the rundown: it’s being at the park before it officially opens so you can enter the moment the “rope drops.” (Years ago it was an actual rope!) You’re ahead of the bulk of the crowd and can hit top attractions before lines grow. Why it works:

Early in the day = shortest waits.

Cooler temps and fresh energy.

You can plan to do headliners twice-once with rope drop and once with Lightning Lane.

Why it’s worth losing sleep: You get HOURS of park time before most guests even arrive. That feeling of being ahead of the game is worth the early alarm!

What if I told you to intentionally plan to visit Magic Kingdom on a day that the park closes at 6pm?? This is a strategy ideal for party days (like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party) because the early closing deters a lot of people with base tickets from burning up a day at Magic Kingdom that’s abbreviated. Therefore, the park is way less crowded throughout the day than usual.

Even if you do have base tickets, you can accomplish SO much before 6pm when you do get booted and your day doesn’t have to be over-over. You can hit up Disney Springs and see a movie, go bowling or you can resort hop to check out where you might stay next. Or you can enjoy some time at your own resort.

There are trips that show you “the sights” and then there are vacations that change the way you view the world. That’s what Adventures by Disney does.

On the Danube River cruise you’ll be gliding past centuries old castles, cooking apricot jam or hearing legends from locals as you walk through storybook towns. It’s history, folklore, and culture brought to life right in front of you.

Walt Disney World fans can sometimes have a bit of tunnel vision. There’s some SERIOUSLY cool changes happening at that property down the street that I don’t want anyone to miss out on. Universal Orlando Resort is here to compete! The new DreamWorks kids area in Universal Studios is such a blast for littles, but still has plenty of adult humor to include their folks. The Minion area is super fun and has two attractions that even non-attraction guests will enjoy. Epic Universe...don’t even get me started on Epic Universe. Five new worlds that are completely immersive with amazing attractions, characters, and theming. You have to see it to believe it. Be honest, what is the main thing that is holding you back from giving Universal a shot?

The water is crystal blue. The characters are around in their cute island attire. Cookie’s BBQ makes for a great lunch...and second lunch. However, if you feel like you’ve been there, done that, you can always (gasp) stay onboard! The island will be hopping, but the ship can be the real relaxing oasis. The pressure is real to get off the ship and maximize every port, but do you think you’d ever be persuaded to hang out onboard and enjoy the perks of an empty ship? Disney’s PhotoPass photographers have completely changed the way families capture memories in the parks. And for many, Memory Maker is a game‑changer.

Can you imagine, the WHOLE FAMILY in that castle shot (and not just what you can see in a selfie), those funny attraction photos and not having to obsess over your phone settings to capture the right moment? Not to mention, oftentimes the PhotoPass photographers will give you an experience you’ll never forget!

I’ll be honest though, if you rarely stop for photos or don’t care about ride shots, you might want to spend that money on MultiPass or SinglePass Lightning Lanes.

Think you’d feel out of place on a girls trip, a couples escape, or even going solo? NO WAY. One of my favorite planning topics for couples trips is where to stay so let’s dive in!

Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (Deluxe): Both of these resorts are classy, elegant, and dreamy! They have fantastic dining and lounges, gorgeous grounds, and rooms that make you feel like you’re living the bougie life.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort (Moderate): There is SO much to love at this resort! Whether you stay in the sleek tower or charming villages, you’ll fall in love. The dining is unparalleled for a Moderate resort!

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort (Value): Hear me out! I do love the Value Resorts, but yes, they will typically be very full of families and kiddos. However, All-Star Movies has some pretty sweet photo spots for couple selfies! Hey, the price is right, so if budget is the top priority, then take a look at this one.
